Troparion of prophecy, tone 5:
Thy mercy, Lord, be with us, and do not betray us with our iniquity, Holy Master Almighty, we pray to You.
Glory, and now: and we repeat the same.
Troparion of prophecy, tone 5: Show us Your mercy, Lord, and do not betray us to our iniquities - we pray to You, Holy Master, Almighty!
Glory, even now: and we repeat the same troparion.

Reading the prophecies of Isaiah. [Isa.58:1-11]
This is the word of the Lord: cry out to the might and have no mercy; Like a trumpet, lift up your voice and tell my people their sins and the house of Jacob their iniquities. They seek Me day by day and desire to understand My ways, as people who have created righteousness and have not forsaken the judgment of their God: they now ask Me for righteous judgment, and to draw near to They wish to the Lord, saying: Why did I fast and not see it? the humbleness of our souls, and didst thou not see? in the days of your indulgences you will find your wills, and all your companions will languish. Do you also fast in judgments and wars, and beat the humble one with your palms, fasting to Me as much as today, even if I hear your voice crying out? I did not choose fasting, and the day before a man humbles his soul, below, even if you wear sackcloth like a sickle, and put sackcloth and ashes on your neck, below that call the fast pleasant.
This is not the fast I have chosen, says the Lord: but resolve every bond of unrighteousness, destroy the debts of the violent scriptures, release the broken into freedom, and every scripture separate the unrighteous. Shatter your bread to the hungry, and bring the bloodless poor into your house: if you see them naked, do not despise them from those belonging to your tribe. Then your light will open early, and your healings will quickly shine: and your righteousness will come before you, and the glory of God will surround you. Then call, and God will hear you, and again I say to you, saying: Behold, I have come. If you take away from you the bitterness, and the beating of hands, and the word of murmuring, and give bread from your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the humble soul: then your light will shine in the darkness, and your darkness will be like noon. And your God will be with you forever.
Reading the prophecy of Isaiah [58:1–11a]
Thus says the Lord: Cry with might and do not refrain, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and tell my people their sins and the house of Jacob their iniquities. They seek Me every day and desire to know My ways, like a people who do righteousness and do not forsake the law of their God; they now ask Me about righteous judgment and want to draw closer to God, saying: “Why did we fast, but You did not see? We humbled our souls, but You didn’t know?” Because during the days of your fast you do your will and torture all your workers. If you fast in the midst of judgments and disputes and strike the humble with your hand, why do you fast for Me, as you did today, so that your loud voice can be heard? This is not the kind of fast I have chosen as a day for a man to humble his soul. And it is not that you bend your neck like a sickle and spread rags and ashes - do not call this fasting and a day pleasing to the Lord. For this is not the fast I have chosen, says the Lord: but untie every bond of unrighteousness, destroy insidious forced obligations, release the oppressed, and tear up every unjust record.
Share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; If you see a naked person, clothe him, and do not despise the relatives of your tribe. Then your light will shine early, and your healing will soon take place, and your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of God will embrace you. Then you will shout, and God will hear you, and while you are still speaking, He will say: “Behold, I have come.” If you remove from yourself the bonds, the waving of your hands, and the murmuring, and you give the bread of your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the soul of the humble, then your light will shine in the darkness, and your darkness will be like the noonday. And your God will always be with you.
