Thou didst set out with a lofty vision, according to Paul, and the ineffable Spirit saw thou, even the wise theologian, theologizing to all the worldly One with the tongue of God, Simeon, thou didst appear blatant:

Rejoice, divine theologian;

Rejoice, all-wise blasphemer.

Rejoice, John the Great Imprint;

Rejoice, Gregory's divine likeness.

Rejoice, multi-sounding organ of lofty visions;

Rejoice, thou art of the psalter animated by luminous instructions.

Rejoice, for you have entered into the impenetrable darkness;

Rejoice, for you have seen the heavenly world.

Rejoice, you who amaze the faithful with your words;

Rejoice, order the morals of your souls.

Rejoice, expresser of the heavenly life;

Rejoice, O wonderful manifestation of God to us.

Rejoice, like Simeon, the light of the Divine Mystery.
