Having been educated in ancient Rome, / the power of your fatherland, the city of Mangup, was abandoned, / and you counted your reign as nothing, / and the short-lived glory of the vanity of the age of Christ for Christ’s sake, / and moreover choosing earthly wealth for yourself, heavenly wealth and eternal glory/ having raised your mind to God,/ and you desired to perceive your life with the Angels,/ by the providence of the Divine mind we guide,/ and you reached the God-saving city of Uglich,/ and near the borders of its region, above the Volga River, you settled in the desert,/ and you built a glorious monastery in honor of the Mother of God You are,/ and in her you have offered your body, as a gift consecrated./ Therefore we pray to you, Father Cassian,/ pray to Christ God,// may He save our souls.
