Troparion, tone 1

At Christmas you preserved your virginity, at your Dormition you did not abandon the world, O Mother of God, you reposed yourself to the belly, Mother of the Being of the Belly, and through your prayers you delivered our souls from death.

You passed on to your stomach - You passed on to life. Mother of the Being of the Belly - since You are the Mother of Life.

Kontakion, voice 2

In prayers, the never-sleeping Mother of God, / and in intercessions, unshakable hope, / the grave and mortification cannot be restrained: / like the Mother of the Life, / put down to the life, / indwelling the ever-virgin womb.

And in intercession there is an immutable hope - and an immutably reliable Intercessor. If you didn’t hold back, you didn’t hold back (* dual number). Leave it to your belly and bring it back to life.

* Like the Mother of the Belly, bring Him to the belly, into the ever-virgin womb: (You), like the Mother of Life, were brought to life by the One who Dwelled into (Your) ever-virgin womb.

Greatness

We magnify You, Most Immaculate Mother of Christ our God, and glorify Your Dormition all-gloriously.

Zadostoynik

Chorus: The angels saw the Dormition of the Most Pure One and were amazed at how the Virgin ascended from the earth to heaven.

Irmos of the 9th song of the canon: The laws of nature are conquered in You, O Pure Virgin; For the Nativity is virgin, and the life is betrothed to death: after the birth the Virgin, and after death is alive, saving Thy inheritance, O Theotokos, everlastingly.

Virgo - virgin. The laws of nature are defeated - the laws of nature are overcome. Christmas is still virgin - for childbirth is virgin. The stomach is betrothed to death—life is betrothed to death. Always - always. Your inheritance is your destiny.

The first canon of the holiday (and accordingly the honorable one) is the creation of the Monk Cosmas of Maium.
