Most merciful Lord! Grant me the divine gift of holy prayer, pouring out from the depths of my heart; gather my wasted mind, so that it always strives for You, its Creator and Savior; crush the fiery arrows of the evil one, tearing me away from You; extinguish the flame of thoughts, which consumes me stronger than fire during prayer; overshadow me with the grace of Your Most Holy Spirit, so that until the end of my sinful life I love You alone with all my heart, with all my soul and thought and with all my strength, and at the hour of separation of my soul from this mortal body, O Sweetest Jesus, receive my spirit in Your hands and remember me when You come in the Kingdom Yours. Amen.
