Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee! For Thou art life, and we are in Thine hand; Thou hast given us understanding, that we may know Thee, our God. Through Thy grace, we have been enlightened, and through our compunction of heart, we have found mercy from Thee. Therefore, let us with one voice give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His mercy endureth forever. Amen.

But a new wonder and glorious miracle, for the Lord passed through the closed door of the monastery, naked at the entrance, and the deacon hung upon him at the exit; yet the door remained shut: this ineffable mystery we glorify as God commands.

It is fearful to behold Thee, O Creator, raised upon the cross by Thy own Word, yet suffering in the flesh for Thy servants, and lying lifeless in the tomb; Thou who hast even raised the dead from Hades: therefore do we glorify Thee, as all-powerful.

And Thou, O Saviour, having suffered death for the sake of the prophets, wast laid in a grave and dead, yet didst thy life flourish, rising from the dead, leading man's nature to light, and putting on immortality in the flesh. Therefore do we ever magnify Thy fount of light.

O Theotokos,

Temple and Theotokos glorified Thee, O Virgin, in the high places where dwelleth He who was born without guile to all creation, not overturning with Thy whole body all the gates thereof. Wherefore by unceasing prayers of Thine, O Master, the tongues of barbarians quickly unto the end be subdued.

And He

Irmos: Sweet is the fragrance of thy sacrifice.

Thou hast filled all with honour from the dishonour of death: by Thy passion Thou didst taste and gavest to the mortal creature immortality, O Lover of mankind.

Spare me, O Lord, Thy resurrection from the grave, for Thou hast also raised me up and brought me to my parents: and Thou didst place at my right hand for thy good pleasure, O Merciful One, according to mine prayers, O Lord.

And Thee.

This hymn of the same.

Satisfaction of thy praises is twofold, O blameless and faithful one: for the desire of thy desire is ever divine and spiritual, as we magnify the Most Holy Virgin.

Thou hast laid up for us an unholy prayer-bearer, Thee born of Jesus Christ. By thy prayers thou dost give to us the Spirit, bestower of blessings, proceeding from Thy Father.
