Irimos:
By life alone we are saved,
And by death we perish;
For life is from Thee, O Lord,
And death Thou hast made for our condemnation.
Through Thy death, O Master,
The sting of death was destroyed;
And the gates of Hades were cast open for us.
Thou art the true Life,
Who didst rise from the dead,
O Christ God, glory to Thee!
But a new wonder and God-wondrous thing, for the Lord passeth through the closed double door, naked at the entrance, and the bearer of the cross hangeth in the exit of God, and the door remaineth shut: this ineffable, as we glorify the great God.
It is fearful to behold Thee, Creator, hanging upon the wood by a sign of the Cross, yet suffering God for Thy servants and lying lifeless in the tomb, having raised the dead from Hades: therefore dost Thou keep us, since Thou art mighty beyond measure.
From the depths of death thou hast been raised, O Preserver of the Prophets, having lain in the grave dead, and life didst flourish, raising the dead to life, leading the human nature into light, and putting on thee the immortal garment of resurrection. Therefore we glorify Thy ever-living Source of Light.
O Theotokos,
Temple and Theotokos glorified Thee, O Virgin, in the high places where Thou didst dwell, having been conceived without sin by Thy holy flesh, not overturning with all Thy might the gates of the heavens. Therefore, through ceaseless prayers of Thine, O Master, the tongues of the barbarians quickly to the end were subdued.
And He
Irmos: Sweet is the sound of thy singing.
Thou hast filled all with honour from the dishonour of death: by Thy passion Thou didst taste and gavest to the mortal creature immortality, O Lover of mankind.
Spas slě mě̀ voskřěsъ íz gróba Khriste, guvoskřělъ že vóska, ì źecú priveĺě vóska tvoemú̀ rodítelju: oděsnúju že vóska spòsadilě vóska za blagútrobíje mlětiti tvórēny gđi.
And Thee.
This hymn of that same one.
Satisfaction of thy praises is twofold, O blameless and faithful one: for the desire of thy desire is ever holy and spiritual, receiving it as doth the Mother of God.
Thou hast laid up for us an unblamable prayer-bearer, Thee born of Jesus Christ. By thy prayers thou givest to us the Spirit, giver of good things, proceeding from Thy Father through thee.
