He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My Flesh is truly food, and My Blood is truly drink. He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I in him (John 6:53-56). The last, Trinity troparion of the song again returns us to these words of the Savior, speaking about eternal life given by Communion (I partake of the Divine Body and Blood of clay, and am made incorruptible).
