Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee! For Thou art life (жизнь) and we have no life (жизни) without Thee; Thou art always (διὰ παντός) our light and the removal of our darkness. Suddenly (ἐξαίφνης) Thou hast appeared as a stranger (ξένος) in Thy own creation (κτίσις), and we have been blinded by spiritual delusion (πλάνη). Our heart is moved with compunction (κατάνυξις) when we remember Thee, O Lord.

Thee we magnify, O Theotokos, and with hymns we reverently contemplate: Even as the sons praised the Triune, Thou, O ever Virgin, didst renew the world in Thy womb, O glorious Father, and highly praised.

Therefore the earth trembleth, the sun hideth itself, and the brightness thereof passeth away: for the church's veil is rent; and the stones are split: for upon the cross hung the Praised Father of glory, and was highly exalted.

Thou hast been as one without help, and wast invoked among the dead by our will, being carried up for us into the realm of the dead for our sake. Thou didst release all, and with a mighty hand didst raise Thee up, O glorious Father God, and art preëxalted.

O Theotokos,

Rejoice, fount of waters ever flowing.
Rejoice, paradise of food.
Rejoice, wall of faithful ones.
Rejoice, unassailable.
Rejoice, world-wide joy, by which our heavenly Father God and greatly praised has glorified us.

And Irmos: Morning hymns with reverence:

Of old was the land defiled with blood, crimsoned by fratricidal hands: but with Thy precious blood Thou hast been sprinkled and hast cried out: Father God, blessed art Thou.

Let the Jews who are hostile to Christ weep with shame for their crucifixion: but let those who believe rejoice, and lift up their hands, and cry out: Blessed be the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

With all thy bearing, O my Soul, rejoicing, the Angel doth cry: Arise, O Jesus Christ, come and behold the tokens, the linen cloth and the sepulcher, and cry: Blessed art Thou, O Father.
Kanon der Heiligen Mutter Gottes
And Irmos: I beseech Thee:

Thou, O Theotokos, as Jacob spiritually comprehends the ladder: by thee being exalted upon the earth, we are made to live with men, because of thy good will, O glorious Father God and highly praised.

Rejoicing in reading, and knowing that the Pastor hath passed through, having been crucified according to the flesh, truly exalted, over all mankind, for His ineffable womb-birth: glorious is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and greatly praised.

But the New Adam, O Ever-Blessed God, of thy pure blood thou hast become eternal verily; wherefore now pray for me, who hath vowed to renew: glorious Father God and highly praised.
