Troparion of prophecy, tone 5:

You gave an insurmountable wall to our city, who gave birth to Thee Virgin: Take this, O Savior, from the evil ones around us, we pray, our souls.

Glory, and now: and we repeat the same.

Troparion of prophecy, tone 5: You have given an insurmountable wall to our city - the Virgin who gave birth to You; Thanks to Her, O Savior, deliver our souls - we pray to You - from the troubles that oppress us on all sides!

Glory, even now: and we repeat the same troparion.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 108), tone 4: Help me, O Lord my God,/ and save me according to Your mercy.

Verse: O God, do not keep silent from my praise: for the mouth of the sinner and the weary is opened against me.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 108), tone 4: Help me, O Lord my God, and save me according to Your mercy!

Verse: Do not pass over my praise in silence, O God!

Reading the prophecies of Isaiah. [Isa.49:6–10]

Thus says the Lord: Behold, he gave you for the covenant of your generation, for the light of the tongue, even to be your salvation, even to the last of the earth. Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel who has delivered you: sanctify him who despises his soul, who is abhorred by the tongue of the servants of princes: kings will see him, and princes will arise, and they will worship him for the Lord’s sake: for the Holy One of Israel is faithful, and he has chosen you. This is what the Lord says: in a time of pleasure I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you, and created you, and gave you for an everlasting covenant of the nations, even to establish the earth, and inherit the inheritance of the wilderness, Saying to those who are in bondage, come out, and to those who are in darkness, open yourselves: in all ways they will feed, and in all paths they will pasture. They will not hunger, they will thirst, below the heat will strike them, below the sun: but the One who has mercy on them will comfort them.

Reading the prophecy of Isaiah [49:6b–10a]

Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I have given You as a covenant for generations, as a light to the nations, to be Your salvation to the ends of the earth.” Thus says the Lord, who delivered you, the God of Israel: “Honor as holy the One who humbles himself, honor as holy the one who humiliates his soul, despised by the nations—the servants of princes. Kings will see Him, and rulers will rise up and worship Him for the Lord’s sake, for the Holy One of Israel is faithful, and I have chosen You.” Thus says the Lord: “In an acceptable time I heard You, and on the day of salvation I helped You, and formed You, and gave You as a covenant to the nations, so that You would build the earth and give an inheritance to the wilderness, I said to the prisoners: “Come out!” and to those who are in darkness: “Let your veils be taken away!”” On all the ways they will graze, and on all the roads their pasture will be. They will not experience hunger or thirst, the heat or the sun will not strike them, but the One who has mercy on them will comfort them.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 109), tone 4: Thou art a Priest forever, / according to the order of Melchizedek.

Verse: The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 109), tone 4: You are a Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek!

Verse: The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit on My right hand!”
