You have declared, Lord: I do not want the death of a sinner by will, but as if he should turn and live, and for the seventy of seven to forsake sins. For Thy majesty is unapproachable, and Thy mercy is immeasurable. If you see lawlessness, who will stand? Behold, child, Christ stands invisibly, accepting your confession. Do not be ashamed, be afraid, and do not hide anything from me: but without hesitation, you have done everything, so that you may receive forgiveness from our Lord Jesus Christ. Behold, His icon is before us: I am a direct witness, and I testify before Him with all things, as you say to me: If you hide anything from me, it will be a sin for you. Take heed, since you have come to the doctor’s hospital, so that you do not leave unhealed.
My son (or: my daughter) is spiritual! Christ is invisibly present here, accepting your confession. Do not be ashamed and do not be afraid, and do not think of hiding anything from me, but tell me openly everything that you have done in order to receive from our Lord Jesus Christ the forgiveness of what you have done. Here is His holy icon; I, the priest, your spiritual father, am only a witness to testify before Him (Christ) about everything that you tell me. If you hide anything from me, you will accept a deep (double) sin on your soul. Please understand that you did not come to the hospital in order to leave it unhealed.
