(August 10)
Oh, Lady Theotokos, my soul's delight, from my withered heart a God-flowing stream, my darkened mind, bright lamp, my lazy will to the Guide, strength for my weaknesses, endowment for nakedness, wealth for poverty, powerful and quick healing for incurable wounds, drying of tears, quenching of sobs, transformation of troubles, relief of illnesses, release of bonds, hope of salvation! Hear my prayer: give me time for repentance, zeal for salvation, strength in the labors of pleasing God; save me from misfortunes and all kinds of evils, in temptations and troubles stretch out Your helping hand, so that I may rise in the fall and not perish in the cruelty. Until I remain in this painful life, do not deprive me of the gifts of Your mercy. Reward with Your goodness all the Christ-loving brethren standing and praying here. Raise the babies, guide the young, support the old, comfort the cowardly, bring the erring to reason, look upon and protect the widows and the orphans, pour out riches on all those who love and hate us Your mercy.
And at the end of my life, at the time of my exodus from the body, be my Representative: soften mortal illness, quench melancholy and lead my poor soul to the eternal abode, so that The dark force will take me and drag me into the depths of hell. To her, Most Blessed Lady Theotokos, tenderness to my soul! Warm my heart, cold in faith and love, with tears of tenderness: send down to me, the sorrowing and burdened with sins, for the prayers of the reverend Father Seraphim, Your worshiper, the need joy and consolation. May I not, O Bride of God, be deprived of the hope of my fruit, but may I be counted worthy in God and my Savior, Thy beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to receive this. To him be glory and power, honor and worship, with His Beginning Father, and His All-Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
