Troparion, tone 4 The day of our salvation is the main day, / and the manifestation of the sacrament from the ages: / The Son of God is the Son of the Virgin, / and Gabriel preaches grace. / In the same way, we also cry out to the Mother of God: / Rejoice, O full of grace, / The Lord is with Thee.

Glavizna is the beginning, the foundation (the Greek word κεφαλαου is polysemantic, just like the Russian “chapter” it means: “head”, and “a chapter in a book”, and “essence, main thing”, and “result, completion”. It has been a sacrament for centuries - an eternal mystery. It happens - here: it becomes.

Kontakion, tone 8

To the chosen Voivode, victorious, as having been delivered from the evil, let us write thanks to Thy servants, the Mother of God, but as having an invincible power, free us from all troubles, and let us call Thee: Rejoice, Unmarried Bride.

Greatness

The Archangel's voice cries out to You, Pure One: Rejoice, O Gracious One, the Lord is with You.

Zadostoynik

Chorus: Bring great joy to the earth, praise the heavens of God's glory.

Irmos of the 9th hymn of the canon: As if the ark of God is alive, let the hand of the wicked touch it, but on the lips of the faithful to the Mother of God, the voice of the Angel sings and cries out with joy: Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you.

For an explanation of the worthy, see the Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Church.

Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem (Week Sunday) (Sunday before Easter)

Troparion, tone 1

The general resurrection / before Thy passion, assuring, / Thou didst raise Lazarus from the dead, O Christ our God. / In the same way, we, like the youths of victory who bear signs of victory, / cry out to you, the Conqueror of death: / hosanna in the highest, / blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Troparion, tone 4

Having been buried in You through baptism, O Christ our God, / we have been made worthy of immortal life by Your resurrection, / and we cry in song: / Hosanna in the highest, / blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Assuring - certifying. Like youths - like children (Jewish). Victory signs - signs of victory (palm branches, and on our Russian soil - willow branches replacing them). Having been buried with You by baptism - having been buried with You in baptism (in the Sacrament of Baptism). If we are worthy, we are worthy.

+ Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord... The words with which they greeted the Lord Jesus Christ entering Jerusalem (these words are from the psalm: Oh, Lord, save! Oh, Lord, make progress! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! - Ps. 118:25-26).

Kontakion, tone 6

On the throne in heaven, carried on the earth by lots, O Christ God, Thou didst receive the praise of Angels and the chanting of children, calling to Thee: Blessed art Thou, Who art come to call Adam.

On a foal - on a young donkey. Coming to call Adam - coming to call Adam.

Blessed art thou, who callest Adam to come. The kontakion complements the Gospel and Psalm “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” with the words of the coming Adam to call: the Lord Jesus Christ enters Jerusalem in fulfillment of the sacrament of the Crucifixion and Resurrection, ordained from time immemorial, by the power of which he will call the fallen Adam from hell (as on the icon of the Resurrection of Christ) - and with him the entire human race.

Greatness

We magnify You, / Life-giving Christ, / Hosanna in the highest, / and we cry to You: / Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
