The kontakion complements the Gospel and Psalm “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” with the words of the coming Adam to call: the Lord Jesus Christ enters Jerusalem in fulfillment of the sacrament of the Crucifixion and Resurrection, ordained from time immemorial, by the power of which he will call the fallen Adam from hell (as on the icon of the Resurrection of Christ) - and with him the entire human race.
