Chosen Voivodo, Lord of Heaven and earth, we offer victorious songs of thanksgiving to You, Your servants, who have now descended into hell and resurrected everything with You, and our deliverance is celebrated, bright We cry: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
The Angel of the Lord, on the Sabbath evening, descended from Heaven in a great coward, rolled away the stone from the door of the tomb of Jesus and sat on it. From his fear the guards shook and were as if they were dead. We worship the Risen Living God with the myrrh-bearers and preach the secret Pasch, crying out:
Christ is risen, and the princes of hell have fallen.
Christ is risen, and the gates of hell are afraid.
Christ is risen, and the gates of bronze are broken.
Christ is risen, and the strongholds of hell are laid waste.
Christ is risen, and death weeps.
Christ is risen, and hell, groaning, cries out:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Mary Magdalene, and Mary Jacob, and Salome saw the young man in the tomb of Jesus, dressed in white clothing and sitting on his gums, being horrified. He said to them: “Are you looking for Jesus Crucified? There is nothing here, just like the speech. Come, see the place where the Lord lies, and quickly walk as His disciples and cry: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.”
The unreasonable mind understood searchingly, Peter and the other disciple went to the tomb and, having entered it, they saw one robe lying and the sir, who was on the head of Jesus, was not with the robe. lying down, but the individual was entwined in one place, and having believed, he cried out with joy:
Christ is risen, and all creation rejoices.
Christ is risen, let Heaven rejoice.
Christ is risen, and the Angels are cheering for us.
Christ is risen, and the underworld is enlightened.
Christ is risen, sing praises to the righteous souls, freed from hell.
Christ is risen, let us shout with joy, salvation from death. Sing to the Lord, all the earth:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
The Lord invested His disciples with power from above after the Resurrection. And they went to Galilee, to the mountain, and Jesus commanded them, and to those who came Jesus said to them: “To Me is given all authority in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore, teach all the languages, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them all, according to the commandments given to you.” And they worshiped Him, calling: Christ is risen from the dead, having trampled down death and given life to those in the tombs.
Having in her heart love for the Teacher, Mary Magdalene stood outside the tomb, crying, and seeing Him risen from the dead, like a heli-grader, asking: “If You took Him, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him.” Both, more than aspirations, having heard: “Mary, I will ascend to my Father and your Father and my God and your God,” he came to the disciple, saying:
Christ is risen, and the sting of sin has been dulled.
Christ is risen, and the world is saved from the flood of sin.
Christ is risen, and we are freed from working for the enemy.
Christ is risen, and the deception of the devil has been abolished.
Christ is risen, and the handwriting that was on us has been blotted out.
Christ is risen, and all creation is renewed, calling:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Having a storm of doubtful thoughts within, Thomas, as a disciple, said, as if he had seen the Lord, he said to them: “Unless I see the wound of the nails in His hand, and put my finger into the wounds nails, and I will put my hand into His side, I have no faith,” but, being convinced, I cried out with joy: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Thomas the disciple heard that he had seen the Lord, and wanted to see Him with his own eyes, and said: “I have no faith.” And after eight days Jesus came with the door shut, the disciple in the midst, and said to Thomas: “Bring thy finger to this, and see my hand, and bring thy hand, and put it in my side: and not be unfaithful, but be faithful.” And Thomas answered and said:
Christ is risen, You are my Lord.
Christ is risen, You are my God.
Christ is risen, and all Incorruption and Life have been received.
Christ is risen, and the dead rise.
Christ is risen, and we will be delivered from condemnation and torment.
Christ is risen, and life has risen from the grave to the world who sings:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
The deities were not scorched by the fire. Thomas boldly touched the rib of Savior. Above all, be enlightened by God, having become incarnate for our salvation and having come to know the flesh of the Risen One. Moreover, through his unbelief, the blessed twin affirms the church faith, even as he confesses in agreement with the cry: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death on death and beings in the tombs gave life.
Having seen Jesus risen, the disciples were afraid because they saw the spirit. But Jesus, although He assured them, showed them His hand and nose and His ribs, He also received part of the baked fish and poison from the honeycombs of the bees before them. Thus, having become confident in both your fear and your sorrow, you put aside your girdle in joy:
Christ is risen, let us accept the worst, and give us the best.
Christ is risen, and hell was killed by the brilliance of His Divinity.
Christ is risen, and the darkness is destroyed, and the gloomy demons are driven away.
Christ is risen, and human nature, decayed by passions, has been renewed.
Christ is risen, and our iniquities have been cleansed.
Christ is risen, and we all, having put on incorruption, offer this song to Him:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Sending preachers of Your Resurrection into the world, Your God-bearing apostles, O Christ, You proclaimed to them, blowing: “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive their sins, they will be forgiven; and even if you hold, they hold.” Moreover, even to this day, throughout the whole world, the children of the church, having been remitted from sins, constantly glorify Your Mercy and sing with pure souls in joy: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death on death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Thou hast shone forth, O Christ, and in the dark reaches of hell the Light of Thy Resurrection, Forgiveness and Weakness, and Deliverance, preaching the good news, O Plenty of Mercy, to the souls contained there from time immemorial. Moreover, from the serpent, the murderer, we are devoured, playfully, rushing towards Your Light, singing:
Christ is risen, and our bonds are torn apart.
Christ is risen, and the shadow of death has been transformed into Eternal Life.
Christ is risen, and the power of death can no longer hold a person.
Christ is risen, and the tormentor’s insolence has fallen.
Christ is risen, and Heaven has been given to us instead of living in hell.
Christ is risen, and the world sings evermore:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Although you served the fallen Adam, our Savior, you appeared on earth, and on earth you will not find that, even seeking you down to hell, yes, having met you down in the depths of the earth, with everyone those who are being saved sings: Christ is risen from the dead, having trampled down death and given life to those in the tombs.
You made a beginning for new lives, O Lord, with Your glorious Resurrection. Everything is old and past: hell, death, and the power of the devil. Now all creation is known, and before they were darkened, now like the sons of God they rejoice, singing:
Christ is risen, pouring out an abyss of mercy and generosity on our race.
Christ is risen, raising us with Him into the pit of those who fell.
Christ is risen, and we will be delivered from the snares of demons.
Christ is risen, and the bitterness of sin has been transformed into the sweetness of heavenly Life.
Christ is risen, and the tree of His death came to life.
Christ is risen, and we will be raised to our former state, so we call:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Wandering with Cleopas and Luke throughout the whole distance of sixty stages from Jerusalem, and not having been known by him, you reviled you, O Savior, for their unbelief and hard-heartedness, with the verb: “Have you not shone more befittingly?” should Christ suffer and enter into His glory?” And being a prophet from Moses and from all, you taught them to sing: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
You taught everything to Yourself, the existence of God and perfect man, O Savior, to your two disciples in Emmaus, when you received the bread, You blessed and, having broken it, You gave to them. I was speechless and my eyes were opened, and I knew You, but You were invisible, and I said to myself:
Christ is risen, and Life reigns.
Christ is risen, and the devil’s flattery has been exposed.
Christ is risen, and the idol’s sacrifice ceases.
Christ is risen, and the whole earth offers Him a sacrifice of praise.
Christ is risen, and we, who of old tasted the unheard food, now taste the Eternal Food.
Christ is risen, and we are partakers of the Everlasting Joy, singing:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
All the Angels, O Christ the Savior, are singing Your Resurrection in heaven. Grant us on earth with a pure heart in Veseliya to sing: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Vethias the universal and teacher of languages Paul, the God-speaking one, cries out like a trumpet: “Christ is risen from the dead, The beginning of the rising of the dead. Just as in Adam everyone dies, so in Christ everyone will live.” Moreover, having seen the Resurrection of Christ, we cry out in Joy:
Christ is risen, and the prince of the world is cast down.
Christ is risen, and the underworld trembles.
Christ is risen, and death was sacrificed through Victory.
Christ is risen, and hell has been captured by His Power.
Christ is risen, and we are free from the indestructible bonds of hell.
Christ is risen, and we, having been delivered from corruption, the sons of the Resurrection, appear and sing:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
Although you endured crucifixion and death to save the human race from the work of the enemy, Lord, having been buried, on the third day you rose from the dead. The same Angel, shining in the tomb, preaches the good news to the women, saying: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
On the third day after the Resurrection, Jesus appeared on the sea of Tiberias to Simon Peter, and Thomas, and Nathanael, and the son of Zebedee, who were fishing for fish, with no one from His disciples, and, like the Lord, all, he commands the land at the right hand of the ship to speak, and the word will be done quickly, and there will be many fish in abundance, and a strange supper will be prepared on the earth. Let us now mentally enjoy ourselves, O Lord, who sing:
Christ is risen, and to Him is given authority in Heaven and on earth.
Christ is risen, and the Kingdom of God has come.
Christ is risen, and His Body, as the Bread of Life, is accepted by all.
Christ is risen, and we taste His Blood as the Immortal Source.
Christ is risen, and Adam, freed, rejoices with us.
Christ is risen, and Eve, being delivered from her bonds, rejoices, calling:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
The song of all-contrition is offered to the Risen You, Peter, for I have thrashed for denying You, and thrashed and confessed: “Lord, You are all the weight, You are the weight, because I love You.” Thresh and hear from You the sweetest calling for the flock: “Feed My lambs, feed My sheep.” In the same way he calls: Christ is risen from the dead, having trampled down death and given life to those in the tombs.
Light to the Giver, like the sun, you shone for three days from the grave and you enlightened everything with the Light of true knowledge of God. Moreover, let us sit in the darkness of unbelief and doubt with the apostles, for we are the Lord, and we are no longer tormented: “Who are you?” But the Risen One is glorified; in tenderness we call:
Christ is risen, and enlighten all things with His Resurrection.
Christ is risen, and the Eternal Light has risen in the darkness and shadow of death for those who sit.
Christ is risen, and to the faithful he has given the Light that secretly overshadows the Spirit from above.
Christ is risen, and the spiritual comb was opened before the blind.
Christ is risen, and we know the Father of lights.
Christ is risen, let all who have rejected the Lord of Glory be put to shame and sing with us:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
By Your grace, showing every person the most convenient Path of Salvation, O Christ, You said to Simon Peter: “When you are old, lift up your hand, and you will girdle and leads, even if you don’t want to,” denoting by which death he will glorify God. You commanded your beloved disciple to remain until you arrive. Moreover, even though the apostles were separated, they were both bound by the union of Love, according to the hymn: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in their tombs.
Singing Your three-day Resurrection, O Christ, we rejoice in Your immutable Promise. You promised to be with us until the end of the age, delivering us from all evil and leading us to Eternal Life. For this reason, glorifying Thee, we cry:
Christ is risen, and we are now freed from all harm.
Christ is risen, and He has seated us at the right hand of the Father to eat with Him.
Christ is risen, and He has made us partakers of His Eternal Glory.
Christ is risen, and the strong enemy who crushed the forefather of old is crushed.
Christ is risen, and with the Angels we, before being rejected, are established.
Christ is risen, and He will resurrect everything with Him, calling:
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.
O Great and Most Holy Easter, Christ Jesus, our Savior, we gratefully confess Your saving great Mercy, for You have once again made us, unworthy, able to taste The joys of Your Bright Resurrection. Grant us, in the Everlasting Days of Your Kingdom, the truer and more perfect of You, the Sweetest One, to receive communion, and with the Angels and all the saints, forever and ever, let us all sing joyfully: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death and giving life to those in the tombs.

Glory to Thee, O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, for Thou hast again vouchsafed to me, unworthy as I am, after the holy fast, to prostrate myself before Thy Divine Passion and behold the most joyous day of the glorious Resurrection from the grave. In it Thou didst free those souls in Hades who were bound by eternal chains, O God. Most loving Saviour, I desire that Thou wouldst release me, bound as I am by many sins, and cause me to bring forth the life-giving light of Thy Resurrection into my darkened soul. For I see countless mercies and unspeakable human love in Thee; not only didst Thou lead me from non-existence to existence, but also adorned me with the image of Thy likeness, and set me as a ruler over all creation. Yet, having fallen from heights and being enslaved by the enemy, Thou didst not abandon me, but, redeeming me through Thine invaluable Blood, Thou hast supplied me with the grace of baptism, that I might rise to the first dignity. But I, the sinner, having turned back with a fleshly mind, have again become a servant of sin and passion; for by one fall I destroyed all the gifts of Thy grace. Now, what I shall do henceforth, I know not; but recalling the words of Thine pure lips, Thou didst come not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. And as one of them, with faith and humility, I approach Thy life-giving grave, not bearing fragrant spices or the stench of death (for I am naked and devoid of good works), but rather hope that in it I may find forgiveness for my sins and renewal of my unclean life. Behold me, O Thou Who dost forgive and desire to serve Thee; do not reject me from the grace of Thy Resurrection! By Thine life-giving death and burial, slay my fierce passions, that as dead and buried, I may live in this present world. By Thy glorious rising, raise up my soul, slain by sins, and renew my conscience, which is more necessary than anything else in this world. By Thy exaltation, sever me from vain and soul-destroying earthly blessings, and make me wise for the higher things, that I may not live and serve myself alone, but Thee, O Lord and my God, serving and working as Thou hast appointed, so that I may be worthy to prostrate myself before Thy Resurrection on earth, thus being granted to see Thee, O most loving Redeemer of mine, in heaven, for the joy of receiving a crown of glory and honour through the sweet words of Thy crucified and glorified Body, standing at Thy right hand with the archangels and angels, and with all my fellow-saved brothers, for evermore praising Thee: Alleluia! Amen. [Akathist to the Resurrection of Christ composed by Baron Nolde.]
