By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lover of Mankind, Thou didst darkened the sun and its light by Thy Resurrection, enlightening all creation. Receive our evening song, O Merciful One.
Thy rising, O Lord, hath enlightened all the world and Thy creation, having been kindled with Thy light. Therefore, Adam's curses have been changed; we cry out: All-powerful Lord, glory to Thee.
God Thy Son, unchangeable, though in body Thou didst suffer change, not enduring to behold Thee hanging on the Cross, we bow in fear and cry out Thy long-suffering: Having descended into hell, Thou rosest on the third day, giving life to the world, and didst command the Spirit.
Let our death from the hand of death preserve and deliver, for thou didst suffer death: and on the third day didst rise again, thyself having raised thee up, O Thou known to them that know God; and didst enlighten the world. Glory be to Thee.
O Theotokos,
Without seed from the Holy Spirit, by the will of the flesh thou didst conceive and bring forth a child, O Mother of God, before the age had come: for us also, though without the Father before the ages, thou didst bear in the flesh and nourishedst with milk. Therefore cease not to pray, that our souls may be delivered from tribulations.
