By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lover of Mankind, Thou didst darkened the sun and filled it with Thy resplendent light at Thy Resurrection, enlightening all creation. Receive our evening hymn, O Merciful One.

Thy rising, O Lord, enlighteneth all the world and Thy creation hath been kindled thereby. Wherefore, we cry: All-powerful Lord, glory be to Thee.

God Thy Son, unchangeable, in flesh didst suffer change, for whom not bearing to behold the form, hanging upon the cross, with fear prostrate, and crying out Thy long-suffering: having gone down into hell, three days Thou didst rise again, giving life to the world, and didst pour forth mercy.

Let our death from the hand of death thou preserve and deliver, for thou didst suffer death: on thee three days didst thou rise again, with thyself didst raise up, O Jesus Christ, whom they that knew thee recognized; and thou enlightenedest the world. Glory be to thee.

O Theotokos,

Without seed from the Holy Spirit, by the will of the flesh thou wast conceived, O Theotokos, from thy Father before the ages: for us also, though without a father being, thou didst bear us in the flesh and didst nourish us with milk from thy breast. Therefore cease not to pray, that our souls may be delivered from tribulations.
