By Thy holy Incarnation, O Compassionate Sun and Light of the Resurrection, having enlightened all creation with the light of Thy resurrection, receive our evening hymn, O Lover of Mankind.
Thy rising, O Lord, hath enlightened all the world, and Thy creation, having been parched, hath been refreshed. Therefore have the Adamite curses been changed; we cry out: All-powerful Lord, glory be to Thee.
God Thy Son, unchangeable, though in body Thou didst suffer change, not enduring to look upon the form of Thy creature, bowing in fear and crying out Thy long-suffering: having gone down into hell, Thou rosest on the third day, giving life to the world, and didst command the Spirit.
Let our death from the hand of death preserve and deliver, for thou didst suffer death: on thee didst thou three days lie in the depths of the dead, and with thyself didst rise again, O Thou known to them that know God; and didst enlighten the world. Glory be to Thee.
The Theotokos:
Without seed from the Holy Spirit, by the will of the flesh thou didst conceive and bring forth a child, O Theotokos, before thy Father's throne from of old: for us also, though without a man, thou didst bear in the flesh and didst nourish with milk. Therefore cease not to pray, that our souls may be delivered from tribulations.
