By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lover of Mankind, Thou didst illumine the sun with Thy Resurrection light and didst enlighten all creation. Receive our evening hymn, O Merciful.
Thy uplifted Life-giving ascent, O Lord of the universe, doth enlighten all creation and its inheritance. Wherefore, the Adamite curses be changed; we cry: All-powerful Lord, glory to Thee.
God Thy Son, unchangeable, though in body Thou didst suffer change, not enduring to behold Thee hanging on the Cross, we bow in fear and cry out Thy long-suffering: Having gone down into hell, Thou rosest on the third day, giving life to the world, and didst bestow mercy.
Let our death from the hand of death preserve and deliver, for thou didst undergo death: and on the third day didst rise again, with thyself didst raise up those who knew thee; and didst enlighten the world. Glory be to thee, O Lord.
O Theotokos,
Without seed from the Holy Spirit, by the will of the flesh thou didst conceive and bring forth a Son, from the Father before the ages ever-existing: for us also, having been without the Father, thou didst bear in the flesh and didst nourish with milk of thy breasts. Therefore cease not to pray, that our souls may be delivered from tribulations.
