By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lord, we have been set free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection, from the corruption of death; in Thee, O Glory of our souls, be glory to Thee.

Let the creation rejoice, let the heavens be glad, let them praise with their voices in joyful song: for Jesus Christ is our salvation, who by His cross nailed our sins; and death having slain life for us, raised up the fallen Adam, as a lover of mankind.

King of heaven and earth, incomprehensible in Thy will, wast crucified for love of man. The adversary met Him deep down, was grieved, and received the righteous souls rejoicing: but Adam, seeing Thy Saviour in the depths, arose. Lo, a wonder! How death tasted all life; but as Thou wouldest enlighten the world by calling, and saying: Arise, O dead one, glory be to Thee.

Mystic Virgins, bearing myrrh, with zeal and weeping reached the tomb of thine own self, and finding not thy body, by the angel brought to them news of a new and glorious wonder: "The Lord hath risen, giving to the world great mercy."

Glory, and now:

All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah prophesied: for two you bore, and by the birth thereof, the old covenant was cut off. But because of thy good-womb, bearing with thine hands, thou hearest not our suppliants in thy temple: but because of the mercifulness of thy womb bearing, thou hast pitied us, and prayest to save our souls.
