By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lord, we have been set free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection we have been saved from corruption; to Thee be glory.
Let the creation rejoice, let the heavens be glad, let them praise with their voices in joyful song: for Jesus Christ is our Saviour, who nailed our sins upon the Cross; and death having slain life for us, raised up the fallen Adam from the depths of hell, as a lover of mankind.
King of heaven and earth, incomprehensible in Thy will, hast Thou been laid in a manger for love of man. The adversary met Him with great sorrow, but received the righteous souls rejoicing: Adam, seeing his Sustainer in the depths, arose. How wonderful! How death tasted all life; but as He willed to enlighten the world, crying and saying: Arise, O dead one, and see the glory of Thee.
Mystagogyes, bearing myrrh with zeal and tears, have reached the tomb of thine, and finding not the body thereof, by the angel were made aware of a new and glorious wonder, and they said to the Apostles: "The Lord hath risen, giving to the world great mercy."
Glory, and now:
All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah prophesied: for two you have borne, and by the birth there came to an end the former travail. For God was born, therefore did the new circumcision begin. But because of thy good-womb, O Virgin, bearing with thine hands in thy holy temple thy servants' prayers, thou dost not despise them; but because of thy merciful womb carrying in thy hands, thou hast shown mercy upon thy servants and prayest for our souls to be saved.
