By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lord, we have been set free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection, from the corruption of death, in Thee we glory.

Let the creation rejoice, let the heavens be glad, let them praise with their voices in joyful song: for Jesus Christ is our Saviour, who nailed our sins upon the Cross; and death having slain life for us, raised up the fallen Adam from the depths of hell, as a lover of mankind.

King of heaven and earth, incomprehensible in Thy will, Thou wast crucified for love of man. The adversary met Thee deep down, was grieved, and received the righteous souls rejoicing: but Adam, seeing Thy Saviour in the depths below, arose. Lo, a wonder! How death tasted all life; but since the world desired to be enlightened by Him who calleth and saith: Arise, O dead one, for Thou shalt have glory.

Mystic Virgins, bearing myrrh, with zeal and weeping thou didst reach the tomb of thine own self, and finding not the body thereof, by the angel being made known a new and glorious wonder, we have spoken to Thee: Risen is He who giveth life to all the world in great mercy.

Glory, and now:

All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah prophesied: for thou hast borne two, and before the birth there was a doubling of thy bearing: for God being born, therefore didst thou cut off the bonds of the old order. But because of thy good-womb, carrying Him with thine holy hands, Thou dost not despise Thy servants who bring Thee offerings in Thy temple: but because of His loving-kindness, having borne Him with Thy hands, Thou dost show mercy to Thy servants, and pray for our souls' salvation.
