By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lord, we have been set free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection, from the corruption of death; in Thee, O Glory of our souls.
Let the creation rejoice, let the Theotokos be glad, let them clap their hands with joy: for Jesus Christ is our Saviour, who nailed our sins upon the Cross; and death having slain life for us, raised up the fallen Adam alive, as a Lover of Man.
King of the heavens and earth, incomprehensible in thy will, wast spread upon the cross for man's love. The adversary met thee deep in hell, was grieved, and received righteous souls rejoicing: but Adam, seeing thy sustainer in the depths, arose. Lo, a wonder! How death tasted all life; but since thou wouldest enlighten the world calling and saying: Arise from the dead, O Jesus Christ, to thee be glory.
Mystic Virgins, bearing myrrh with zeal and tears, hastened to the tomb of thine, and finding not thy body thereof, by an angel was made known a new and glorious wonder: we have preached, saying: Arise, O Lord, give unto the world great mercy.
Glory, and now:
All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah prophesied: for thou hast borne two, and before the birth there was a doubling of thy bearing: for God being born, therefore didst thou cut off the bonds of thine affliction. But because of thy good-womb, carrying Him with thy holy hands, Thou dost show mercy to Thy servants who bring Thee supplications in Thy temple: and pray that our souls may be saved.
