By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lord, we have been set free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection, O Christ, from the corruption of death; to Thee be glory.
Let the creation rejoice, let the heavens be glad, let them praise with their voices in joy: for Jesus Christ is our salvation, who on the cross nailed our sins: and death having slain life for us, raised up the fallen Adam alive, as a lover of man.
King of heaven and earth, incomprehensible in Thy will, Thou hast been laid low for man's love. The adversary met Him deeply, was grieved, and received the righteous souls rejoicing: but Adam, seeing Thy Saviour in the depths, arose. Lo, a wonder! How death tasted all life; but as Thou wouldest enlighten the world by calling, and saying: Arise, O dead one, glory be to Thee.
Mystic Virgins, bearing myrrh with zeal and tears, hastened to the tomb of thine, and finding not thy body thereof, by an angel was made known a new and glorious wonder: we have spoken, saying: Arise, O Lord, giving to the world great mercy.
Glory, and now:
All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah prophesied: for thou hast borne two, and before thy bearing there came a birth; for God was born, therefore the powers were newly cut off. But because of God's womb-bearing, receiving thy servants' prayers which are offered to thee in thy temple, do not despise them: but since thy merciful hands bear the good-womb-bearer, have mercy on thy servants and save our souls.
