By Thy holy Incarnation, O Lord, we have been made free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection we have been saved from the withered temple. To Thee be glory.
Let the creation rejoice, let the heavens be glad, let them praise with their voices in joy: for Jesus Christ is our Saviour, who on the cross nailed our sins: and death having slain life for us, raised up the fallen Adam by His love.
King of heaven and earth, incomprehensible in Thy will, Thou wast crucified for love of man. The adversary met Him deep in hell, sorrowing, and received the righteous souls rejoicing: but Adam, seeing his Saviour in the depths, arose. How wonderful! How death tasted all life; but since the world desired to be enlightened by One calling and saying: Arise, O dead one, and see the glory of Thee.
Mystic Virgins, bearing myrrh, with zeal and weeping thou didst reach the tomb of thine own self, and finding not the body thereof, by the angel being informed of a new and glorious wonder, we have spoken to thee: "Risen is the Lord giving to the world great mercy."
Glory, and now:
All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah prophesied: for two you bore, and by the birth there came to an end the former birth. For God was born, therefore did the new birth cut short the old. But because of thy good-womb, bearing with thine hands, thou dost not despise thy servants who bring thee supplications in thy temple: but through the tenderness of thy merciful hands, thou dost have compassion on our souls and pray for their salvation.
