By Thy holy Incarnation, we have been set free from passions, and by Thy Resurrection, from the corruption of death; O Lord, glory be to Thee.

Let the creation rejoice, let the heavens be glad, let them praise with their voices in joy: for Jesus Christ is our salvation, who upon the cross nailed our sins: and death having slain life it gave to us, raising up the fallen Adam within, as a lover of mankind.

King of heaven and earth, incomprehensible in Thy will, Thou wast crucified for love of man. The adversary met Him with sorrow, but received the righteous souls rejoicing: Adam, seeing his Saviour in the depths, arose. How wonderful! How death tasted life to all; but as He willed to enlighten the world, crying and saying: Arise, O dead one, and see the glory of Thee.

Mystic Virgins, bearing myrrh, with zeal and weeping thou didst reach the tomb of thine own self, and foundest not the body thereof; but by the angel was revealed a new and glorious wonder: "Arise," saith He, "O Soul, give to the world great joy."

Glory, and now:

All this shall be fulfilled as Isaiah foretold: for thou hast borne two, and before the birth there came a birth; for God was born, therefore didst thou cut off the bonds of thy fetters. But because of thy good-womb bearing Him with thine hands, Thou dost not despise Thy servants who bring Thee supplications in Thy temple: but through the mercies of thy blessed hands, Thou hast shown mercy upon us, and pray for our souls' salvation.
