Thou, O Jesus Christ, hast risen from the dead, enlightening all the world and calling to Thee Thy creation: O all-powerful Glory of the Lord.

By the Tree of life thou didst make void,
O Lord, the tree of cursing,
And by thy death thou didst bury
The power of death in thy own burial;
Thou didst also enlighten our race
With thy resurrection. Therefore we cry to thee:
O Giver of life, Jesus Christ, glory to thee.

At thy conception, O Virgin, the Lord was fastened, and changed thy purity of body: and without man's knowledge, warriors showed thee dead, with spears piercing thy ribs, while the Jews sought to seal thy tomb, knowing not thy power. But for thy womb, thou wast received into burial on the morrow, and after three days didst rise again, O Glory of the Father.

O Giver of Life, Thou hast willed to endure the death of mortals, descending into hell with power there to await Thy own coming, having overcome its strong bonds, and Thou hast given life instead of death. Therefore, at our glorifying of Thy three-day resurrection, grant us cleansing from sins and great mercy.

O wonder of wonders among all ancient wonders! Who can know the Mother born without a Man, bearing upon her hand, containing the whole creation? She is the Willingness, having been born. When the Lord read it, thy hands carrying it, and the Mother's boldness approaching Him, do not cease to pray for those who invoke thee, that thou mayest still exalt our souls.
