Thy Resurrection, O Jesus Christ, hath enlightened all the world, and by Thy invocation Thou hast called unto Thee Thy creation: O All-powerful Lord, glory be to Thee.

By the Tree of Life thou didst make void,
unto which was joined the tree of cursing,
by thy death thou didst bury the power of death in thy own death,
and by thy rising thou didst enlighten our race with thy resurrection.
Therefore we cry to thee: O Giver of Life, Thee do we glorify.

At thy conception, O Virgin, the Lord was fastened, and changed thy purity of body: and without man's nature didst thou bear a warrior, with spears piercing thy ribs; while the Jews sought to seal thy tomb, knowing not thy power. But for thy womb, receiving burial, on the third day didst thou rise again, O Glory of the Trinity.

O Giver of Life, God, by Thy will enduring the death of mortals, descending below into hell with mighty power, there waiting for Thee, Thou having entered with strength from the very depths, Thou hast given the realm of paradise instead of hell as a gift to dwell in. Therefore, glorifying Thy three-day resurrection, cleanse our sins and grant us great mercy.

O wonder of wonders among all ancient wonders! Who can know the Mother born without a Man, bearing on her hand, containing the whole creation; she is the Willingness, having been born. When thy Handmaid read it, bearing with thine hands, and the boldness of the Virgin towards Him, do not cease to pray for those who invoke thee, that thou mayest exalt and comfort our souls.
