Resurrection of Thy Christ, bright One, Thou hast enlightened the whole universe and called forth Thy creation: omnipotent, unto Thee be glory.
By the ancient, Thou didst celebrate us, O Lord, who by thyself sealed with thy blood the tree of death, and Thou didst bury it in Thy own Resurrection, Thou didst enlighten our race through Thy rising. Therefore we cry to Thee: Come, Ancient of Days, Our God, praise be to Thee.
On the cross of our Lord God, You changed Your good deeds: and inhumanity You showed to us, piercing with Your spear the wood of the Cross; but for Your mercy toward Your children, received burial, and on the third day You rose again, where glory is with You.
Dying for the sake of those who suffer death, you descended to hell that the strong one might receive you there, and the weak might hope in you through your strength. Therefore, grant us Your triumphant resurrection today, which gives eternal life both with You in heaven and with You in hell, and give us Your mercy.
Oh marvel of new wonders among all ancient wonders! Who can recognize the God without a husband who bore her, and carries on his hand what she contains? Glory be to Him who has granted it. To Him belongs the remission, He who gives birth to it. Tell me about the mercy proclaimed by His hands, whom I carry in my heart with fear and trembling, do not cease praying for the salvation of our souls.
