Resurrection of Thy Theotokos, bright One of Heaven, Thou hast enlightened the whole universe and called forth Thy creation: omnipotent be Thine glory.

Ever didst Thou, O Lord, by the tree of life celebrate; hanging on the tree of death, hast Thou redeemed us by Thy resurrection; Thou hast enlightened our race through Thine exaltation. For this reason we cry to Thee: Come, O God of power, have mercy on us.

On the cross of our Lord God, You were changed for good: and inhumanity showed itself to us as a soldier piercing Your breast with spears, O Jews who engrave the tomb praying to it, not knowing Your authority. But for Your mercy we have come today, having received burial, and on the third day You will rise gloriously.

Living Giver of Life, You endured death for mortals by Your own will, descending to hell that the prisoners might be set free there, and You strengthened them with the help of Your holy ones, granting them eternal life in union with heaven and hell. Therefore, we pray You for our sake at this hour of threefold resurrection, grant us Your forgiveness for sinners, and give us Your mercy.

O Thou wonder of all ancient wonders! Who alone knew the God who was born, and bears upon His hand, the whole creation; behold it is mercy that has brought forth, and by Thy hands carried it, and boldness toward Him which we fear, do not cease to pray for those who fear Thee, that He may heal our souls.
