Glory... Trinitarian: It is wonderful to [give] praise, honor and glory to the Trinity as the one Dominion and the only Kingdom - [the Trinity] Whom we worship in divinity as a Unit, inseparable and unfused, indivisible in nature, constantly glorified.

Theotokos: Be propitiated by the prayers of the all-pure Mother of Thy All-Bountiful O All-Tsar of glory, when You come to judge Thy servants, for He is merciful: in Thee all have believed, and in Thee We know God.

Theotokos: Oh, show [to us] mercy through the prayers of Your All-Pure Mother, All-Merciful and All-Glorious King, when You come to judge Your servants! For You are Merciful, for we all believe in You and know that You are God.

The luminous fast that is now upon us, accepts the meal of exploits offered, for the sake of sowing everything soberly, let us receive the honest cup of cleansing tears: let us not heal We won’t be tempted by tears there.

Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee!

The now approaching and luminous Lent offers [us] a feast of exploits; therefore, being sober, let us all take from there the glorious cup of cleansing tears, so that we may not experience inconsolable tears beyond the grave!

Katavasia: Virginity is foreign to mothers, and childbearing is strange to virgins: both are settled on You, Mother of God. Thus, we continually magnify You all the tribes of the earth.

In verse we sing the day itself:

Tone 6: Before the saving Cross, sin reigned, wickedness reigned, man was pleased with bodily food, and careless about carnal desires: and therefore the godmother the mystery is accomplished, and the demonic torment is extinguished by the mind of God, heavenly virtue dwells on earth. Moreover, fasting is venerated, abstinence shines, prayer is corrected, and the witness is the present time, given to us by the crucified Christ God, for the salvation of our souls.

At the poem we sing the samoglas of the day.

Voice 6: Before the saving Cross, during the reign of sin, when wickedness prevailed, the bodily pleasures of people were glorified, and [only] a few neglected carnal aspirations. But when the Sacrament of the Cross took place, and the tyranny of demons was abolished by the knowledge of God, the virtue of heaven settled on earth. Therefore, fasting is honored and abstinence shines, prayer is performed and the [fasting] time-testimony** is present, given to us by the Crucified Christ by God for the salvation of our souls.

* in Slavic - translation from another version of the text: food was glorified

**Greek the word means “testimony” and “witness,” as well as “martyr” (witnessing with his blood)
