Irmos: Establish us in You, O Lord, who put to death sin on the Tree of the Cross, and plant Your fear in the hearts of us who sing Your praises!

Song 8.
ᾨδὴ η´.
The furnace of passions inflames my soul, but with the dew of Thy mercy this withering, flowing dispassionate currents from Thy imperishable ribs, let us crucify, O Benefactor, for many sakes condescension.
My soul is red-hot like a furnace of passions, but with Your mercy You cool it with dew, O Benefactor, who, by the great condescension of dispassion, sent forth streams from Your unbroken rib at the Crucifixion!*
* This is probably an allusion to God’s Old Testament regulations regarding Easter (Exodus 12:46, John 19:36)

You lifted us up, Christ, to the evil of those who fell, in Your ascension to the Cross; So pull me out, who have slipped into the quagmire of sin, and place me on the rock of salvation and strengthen me, so that I may glorify Your power!
