Having spent another day of my life in Your mercy, Lord, I thank You, glorify and sing Your immeasurable patience for my sins, and Your ineffable love for Your creation! I know, Lord, that this day is a gift of Your love, given to me as a means of correcting myself, for Your Holy Apostle says: instruct one another every day, while you can say: now! (Heb. 3:13), and You Yourself, for our edification, once said about Yourself: I must do the work of him who sent Me while it is day: the night will come when no one can do it (John 9:4). Merciful Lord! I believe that every moment of my life is the same gift of Your grace, undeserved by me and even used for evil, whereas these gifts should be holy and inviolable from sin, just as You are Holy and sinless!
But, weak in strength, I constantly do not act according to the desire of my soul, and, as the Apostle says, I myself do not understand what I am doing, because I am not doing what I want; I see another law in my members, which wars against the law of my mind, and makes me a captive of sin; So, while I serve the law of God with my mind, I serve the law of sin with my flesh! (Rom. 7:13, 23–25). But the same Apostle points me to You, my Savior, who crushed the power of the devil through Your death, saying: For just as He Himself endured temptation, He is able to help those who are tempted! (Heb. 2:18). And therefore, resorting to Your infinite mercy, I beg You: show me Your holy help and grant the coming evening and the coming night, determined by Your wisdom for the good of earthly creation, to pass without sin, without temptations, without slander and slander, and save me. Glorious, Ever-Virgin Mother of God! Although we know that the deep consciousness of our moral insignificance before God, brought by us to humility, brings His fatherly compassion down to our souls; but we also know that when this consciousness, with our frequent and grave sins, shakes our hope in His inexhaustible mercy, and when, even under the shelter of prayer, we no longer dare to expect from Him that after our thousand-fold falls, He will have mercy on us - then in whom else can we find support for this wavering hope of ours for salvation - if not in You, our only and zealous Intercessor? You, without judging anyone, only want to have mercy and save everyone, and like a tender mother who loves equally all her children, good and bad, you love all Christians, who through faith have become lesser brothers of Your Only Begotten Son.
Loving the righteous, You have pity and mercy on sinners who come running with repentance under Your Mother’s cover, and, like the same tender mother who cares more about children who are sick (with sins), You, with greater care and tender sympathy, take care of the salvation of the repentant, turning them away from hell with correction, and lovingly interceding for them at the throne of Your and Righteous Son Judges! By the grace given to You by Him, You, as a Mother, have the power to intercede and protect all those who come running into Your sovereign Veil, - like the Lady who gave birth to the Lord of the whole world, - to reward everyone with Your mercy, - and, like the Daughter of the King, - to lead believers, by the heavenly path of glory, into the church of the Kings!
As Solomon once said to his Mother: Ask my Mother, that I will not turn away from You (1 Kings 2:20), so Your Divine Son, accepting Your intercession for us, tells You the same thing, proving by the fact that He, as God, gives You His Glory, and, as the Son, gives You His heart: may all Angels and men worship You, may the World know Who You have a Son and What Mother He has! May You be glorified by His glory, and may His glory be in Your glorification!
