Who was perfect from God above by Divine grace/ and adorned with good morals,/ enlightened by the Holy Spirit,/ having accomplished holiness in the passion of God,/ vouchsafed the speed of grace of the Divine Spirit,/ shepherding the Church of God of the Russian Metropolis,/ having overcome all by fasting, endured anxiety,/ having overcome persecution, always calling upon St. Peter the Metropolitan for help,/ and having this helper,/ and following in his footsteps./ An acceptable servant,/ keeping God’s commandments,/ instructing the Spirit of God,/ enlightening faithful people with the teaching of your words,/ adorning your life with fasting,/ receiving the yoke of the Lord from childhood,/ and loving Christ above all./ For this sake, I am honored with the bishop’s seat,/ and, as the luminous sun, which came from the Serbian land, / and shone forth with virtue to all the ends of the Russian land, / appeared as the world’s luminary, / and reposed to the Lord from this life into eternal rest, / great bishop of God, Metropolitan Cyprian, / teacher and mentor of the Russian land, / always standing before the Throne of the Most Holy Trinity, / pray to the Lord be diligent about the bishops and about all Christians, / may he save you for the sake of our souls.
