Σήμερον τῆς σωτηρίας ἡμῶν τό Κεφάλαιον, καί τοῦ ἀπ᾽ αἰῶνος Μυστηρίου ἡ φανέρωσις· ὁ Υἱός τοῦ Θεοῦ Υἱὸς τῆς Παρθένου γίνεται, καὶ Γαβριὴλ τὴν χάριν εὐαγγελίζεται. Διὸ καὶ ἡμεῖς σὺν αὐτῷ τῇ Θεοτόκῳ βοήσωμεν· Χαῖρε Κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ Κύριος μετὰ σοῦ.
The day of our salvation is the most important, and from time immemorial the mystery has been revealed: the Son of God, the Son of the Virgin, is born, and Gabriel preaches grace. In the same way, we will cry out to the Mother of God: Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Today is the foundation of our salvation and the revelation of a mystery that has existed since time immemorial: the Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin, and Gabriel proclaims (Her) grace. Therefore, let us also exclaim to the Mother of God: “Rejoice, thou who has received grace, the Lord is with Thee!”
