All-holy Trinity, God and Helper of all the world, hasten and direct my heart to begin with understanding and end with good works inspired by Thy Holy Scriptures, where steadfast are the fiery twapons which now I wish to speak as unworthy: understand.

Thou Who art my Teacher and Guide, I now confess my own ignorance and beg Thy help. Lord, correct me and strengthen my heart; not by the voice of harsh rebuke, but by the understanding of what is spoken, let us be glad and prepare ourselves for the doing of good deeds. Teach me, and I say:

May we be enlightened by good works, partakers of righteous judgments on the tribunals, and inheritors of thy holy countries. And now, Blessed Lady, vouchsafe to me, having exhorted from my heart, also with my tongue to sing, saying thus:

Come, let us worship our King God.

Come, let us bow down and prostrate ourselves before the King our God.

Come, let us bow down and prostrate ourselves before the King, our Jesus Christ, and before God our Father.

Therefore, let him stand fast but little, until all the senses are quenched: then let him begin to do the work not quickly, without laziness, with compunction of heart and humbled spirit. Say this: Blessed is the man: quiet and wise, with attention, and not hasty, as though he were to understand by his own mind the words spoken.
