All-holy Trinity, God and Helper of all the world, hasten and direct my heart to begin with understanding and to end with good works inspired by Thy Holy Scriptures, where steadfast are the fiery twapons, which now I wish to speak as unworthy: understand.

Thou Who art the Lord, I beseech Thee with my ignorance, and of Thee do I ask for help: O Guide me, O strengthen my heart, not that I may strive to speak with fervor, but that by understanding what is spoken I may rejoice and prepare myself for the doing of good deeds. Teach me, and I say:

Grant us, O Lord, good works to enlighten, that we may partake of righteous judgments in the tribunals, being a participant with all thy chosen ones. And now, Blessed be Thou, having exhorted from the heart, and by the tongue I will sing, saying thus:

Come, let us bow down in worship to our God.

Come, let us bow down and prostrate ourselves before the King our God.

Come, let us bow down and prostrate ourselves before the King, our Jesus Christ, and before God our Father.

Therefore, let us stand steadfastly, until all the senses are quenched: then let us begin the work not quickly, without laziness, with compunction of heart and humbled spirit. Say this: Blessed is the man: quiet and wise, with attention, and not hasty, as to understand by meditation.
