I will sing of Your mercy, O Lord, forever, I will proclaim Your truth with my mouth to generation and generation. Thou hast declared: mercy will be created forever, Thy truth will be prepared in heaven. I have made a covenant with my chosen ones, I have sworn to David my servant: I will prepare your seed forever, and I will build your throne for generations and generations. The heavens will confess Your wonders, O Lord, for Your truth is in the church of saints. Who in the clouds can be equal to the Lord? Will he become like the Lord in the sons of God? God is glorified in the council of saints, great and terrible above all those around Him. Lord God of Hosts, who is like You? You are strong, Lord, and Your truth is around You. You rule over the power of the sea; you calm the disturbance of its waves. Thou hast humbled the wounds of the proud, Thou hast squandered the arm of Thy strength upon Thy enemies. The heavens are Yours, and the earth is Yours, You founded the universe and its fulfillment. You created the north and the sea, Tabor and Hermon will rejoice in Your name.
Thy arm is with strength: let Thy hand be strengthened, and Thy right hand be exalted. Truth and destiny are the preparation of Thy throne: mercy and truth shall come before Thy face. Blessed are the people who cry out: Lord, in the light of Your face they will walk, and in Your name they will rejoice all day long, and in Your righteousness they will be exalted. For You are the praise of their strength, and in Your favor our horn will be exalted. For the Lord is the intercession of our Holy King of Israel. Then you said in the vision of your sons, and you said: I put help on the mighty one, I lifted up the chosen one from my people, I found David my servant with holy oil I anointed him. For My hand will protect him, and My arm will strengthen him, nothing will the enemy be able to do against him, and the son of iniquity will not try to embitter him: and I will cut off his enemies from his face, and I will defeat those who hate him. And My truth and My mercy will be with him, and in My name his horn will be exalted, and I will place his hand on the seas, and his right hand on the rivers.
He will call upon Me: Thou art my Father, my God and the intercessor of my salvation. And I will set him as his firstborn, high above the kings of the earth: I will keep My mercy for him forever, and My covenant is faithful to him, and I will set his seed for ever and ever, and his throne is day of heaven. If his sons forsake My law and do not walk in My judgments, if they defile My justifications and do not keep My commandments, I will visit them with the rod of their iniquity, and with the stripes of their iniquity, But I will not destroy My mercy from them, nor will I destroy My truth; I will not defile My covenant, nor will I reject those who proceed from My mouth. Do I swear with one oath about My Holy One, or should I lie to David? His seed will endure forever, and his throne is like the sun before Me, and like the moon, perfect forever, and a faithful witness in heaven. You rejected and humiliated, you were indignant at your anointed one, you destroyed the covenant of your servant, you desecrated his shrine on earth: you destroyed all his strongholds, You put his fear firmly in place. I plundered it all along the way, causing it to be reproached by my neighbors.
You exalted the right hand of those who afflicted him, you made all his enemies rejoice: you turned away the help of his sword, and you did not defend him in battle. Thou hast ruined him from his purification, thou hast cast down his throne to the earth, thou hast diminished the days of his time, thou hast doused him with cold. How long, Lord, do you turn away from the end? Will Your anger be kindled like fire? Remember what my composition is, for you created all the sons of men in vain? Who is the man who, if he lives and does not see death, will deliver his soul from the hand of hell? Where is the essence of Your ancient mercies, O Lord, to whom You swore to David in Your truth? Remember, Lord, the reproach of Thy servant, who kept many tongues in my bosom, who reproached Thy enemies, O Lord, who reproached the change of Thy Christ. Blessed be the Lord forever, be, be. I will sing of Your mercies, O Lord, forever; from generation to generation I will proclaim Your truth with my mouth. For You said: “My mercy has been shown forever.” Thy truth has been established in Heaven from eternity, O God.
“I have bequeathed a covenant to My chosen ones, I swore to My servant David: I will preserve your descendants forever and build up your throne from generation to generation!” The heavens will proclaim Your wonders, O Lord, and will proclaim Your truth in the church of the saints. For who in the mansions of heaven can compare with the Lord? Who will be like the Lord among the sons of God? God is glorified by the host of saints, He is great and terrible for those who stand before Him. Lord God of hosts, who is like You? You are mighty, O Lord, and Your truth overshadows all who are with You. You rule over the depths of the sea; the waves rise and You calm them. You humbled the proud as a slain enemy; With Your mighty right hand I have scattered Your enemies. The heavens are Yours and the earth is Yours; You created the universe and everything in it. You created the north and the sea; Tabor and Hermon will rejoice in Your name. Great is Your power! Let Your hand show its might. And may Your punishing right hand be exalted! Truth and judgment are the foundation of Your Throne; mercy and truth walk before Your face.
Blessed are the people who cry to You: “Lord!” In the radiance of Your face he will walk, In Your name he will rejoice every day and in Your righteousness he will be exalted. For in You is our glory and power, and by Your favor our strength will increase, For the Lord is our Protector, the Holy One of Israel is our King! Once, having appeared in a vision to Your sons, You said: “I have shown help to the strong, I have exalted the chosen one from My people; I found David My servant, and with My holy oil I anointed him to be king; Therefore My hand will protect him, My right hand will strengthen him; The enemy will not succeed in the fight against him, and the son of iniquity will no longer cause him harm! I will destroy his enemies before him and crush his haters! My truth and My mercy are with him, and his dignity will be exalted in My name; And I will lay his left hand on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers. He will call on Me: “My Father, You are my God, the Intercessor who saves me!” And I will make him my firstborn, above the kings of the earth! I will preserve My mercy to him forever, and My covenant with him will be faithful; And I will preserve his descendants forever, and his throne is eternal as the heavens!
If his sons forsake My law and do not live according to My righteousness, If they violate My commandments and do not keep My commandments, I will punish their iniquity with the rod and the whips of their unrighteousness, But I will not take My mercy away from them, I will not betray My truth, And I will not break My covenant, I will not renounce what I have spoken with My lips! I once swore to David by My holiness; shall I lie to him? His descendants will be preserved forever, and his throne is before Me like the sun, And like the moon, existing forever; and a faithful witness in heaven forever.” But Thou hast rejected and humiliated, and cast down Thy anointed; He broke the covenant with Your servant and allowed his shrine to be desecrated on earth; He destroyed its walls, filled its strongholds with terror. Those passing by steal his property, and he has become a laughing stock among his neighbors. Thou hast exalted over him the right hand of his persecutors, Thou hast made his enemies glad; He did not help his sword and did not protect him in battle; He took away his church, the place of his purification, and threw his throne to the ground; He shortened the days of his life and covered him with shame. How long, Lord, will you turn away from us? How long will Your anger burn like fire?
Remember the weakness of my nature! Did You really create the sons of men in vain? Which person will live his life and not see death? Who will deliver his soul from the power of hell? Where, O Lord, are Your ancient mercies, which You swore by Your truth to bestow on David? Remember, Lord, how many nations reviled Your servants, how much I suffered from them in my heart! How Thy enemies reviled us, O Lord, how they reviled Thy defeated Anointed One! Blessed be the Lord forever! So be it, so be it!
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
