Terrible day of thy coming, O Jesus Christ, the Theotokos feareth and is troubled, and the unclean judge feareth God, fearing and trembling, for my multitude of sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn thou unto me, and save me through my much prayer.

Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment on His throne, and the courts of Thy judgment stand forth: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant: every one according to his own deeds shall be glorified, or confounded.

And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast made worthy: For thou didst bring forth in thy flesh the Only-begotten, Life-giving One, for the salvation of our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Lord God, rich in mercy and incomprehensible in goodness, alone in nature without sin, and for our sake man though guiltless, hear this my prayer of affliction today, since I am poor and destitute through works of righteousness.

My heart within me doth tremble with compunction. For Thou art the King exalted on high, O Lord, in heaven and upon earth; as all my youth I have waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, ever a laughingstock to the demon, ever following the devil by the will thereof. My heart is darkened.

But from my youth even until now, I have never desired to do Thy will willingly: but being enslaved by the passions of the deceitful demons, I was overcome by laughter and profanation, in no wise while thinking, for Thou hast poured forth upon sinners an unendurable wrath.

And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; wherefore I have not done any work of the devil; nor any deed of study and wandering with advantage.

And with a contrite heart I have accomplished it; by my carnal remembrances I defiled it, by my body with pollutions I besmirched it, and by my spirit with mixtures of defilement: every part of my defiled flesh serves and works for sin. And who else will lament me, defiled? And who else will weep for me?

O Sufferer; for I am one, Lord, Thou hast grieved my spirit: I am one who hath provoked Thy wrath: I am one who hath kindled Thy anger against me: I am one who hath wrought wickedness before Thee, surpassing and overcoming from the ages all sinners, unspeakably sinful, and unforgivable. But because I am much given to boasting,

Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and Thou waitest for the turning of man: all this and I myself cast myself down before Thy fearful and unendurable judgment; and as one who beseecheth with uncovered face, from the depths of my soul I cry to Thee: Purify me, O Forgiver.

Mercy me in my weakness, bow down under my unworthiness, receive my prayer and my tears not in vain. Receive me who am confessing, and turn back him who is astray: turning back him who turns, and praying one forgive.

For Thou hast not laid down repentance for the righteous, nor hast Thou laid

More readily is repentance for him that hath not sinned: but Thou hast appointed repentance for me, O Sinner, in which I have partaken with Thy anger. Naked and exposed before Thee, standing, O Searcher of hearts; confessing my sins: yet I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold the heavenly heights, from the weight of my sins.

Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance: that with good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father, and Mother.

And now, and ever, and in the ages of ages, amen.
