Terrible day of Thy coming, O Jesus Christ, the Theotokos feareth and trembleth, and the unclean judge feareth God, fearing and trembling, as also I, my multitude of sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn Thou unto me, and save me by mine much prayer.
Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment on His throne, and the courts of thy judgment stand forth: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant: every one according to his own works shall be glorified, or confounded.
And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast made worthy: For thou didst bear in thy body the Only-Begotten, Life-Giving One, for the salvation of our souls.
O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:
O Lord God, rich in mercy and incomprehensible in goodness, alone by nature without sin, and for our sake man though guiltless, hear my prayer this hour, as I am poor and needy from good works.
My heart within me doth sorrow. For Thou art the King on high, O Lord, in heaven and earth, as all my youth I have waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, ever a laughingstock to the demon, ever following the devil, in the times of sweet pleasures flowing. My heart is darkened.
But from my youth even until now, I have never desired to do Thy will steadfastly: but being enslaved by the passions of deceitful ones, I was overcome by laughter and profanation by the demon, in no wise while thinking, for Thou hast poured forth upon sinners an unendurable wrath.
And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; what work of the demon have I wrought; what deed of study and dissipation with advantage?
And with a contrite heart I have accomplished it; by my carnal remembrances I defiled it, polluting its body with uncleanness, and my spirit with the pollution of thoughts: every part of my defiled flesh serveth and worketh for sin. And who else will lament me, defiled thus; who else will weep for me?
O Sufferer; for I am one, Lord, Thy strength I have provoked: I am one who hath kindled Thine anger: I am one who hath provoked Thee from of old: I am one who iniquitously acted before Thee, surpassing and overcoming all sinners from the beginning, exceeding in iniquity and unrepentant. But since I am much given to vain boasting,
Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and Thou dost await the turning of man: all this and I myself cast myself down before Thy fearful and unendurable judgment; even as with Thy holy feet Thou hast touched, from the depths of my soul I cry to Thee: cleanse me, O Forgiver.
Mercy me in my weakness, bow down under the understanding of my heart, receive my prayer and my tears not in silence. Receive me who am confessing, and turn back him who is astray: turning back those who return, and those who pray forgive. For Thou hast not laid down repentance for the righteous, nor hast Thou laid down
Pardoneth the unoffending: but thou hast appointed repentance for me, a sinner, in which against thy wrath I have labored. Naked and exposed before thee, O Searcher of hearts, confessing my sins: yet I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold thy heavenly heights, burdened as I am with the weight of sins.
Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance: that with good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father, and Mother.
And now and ever, and unto the ages of ages, amen.
