Terrible day of thy coming, O Jesus Christ, the Theotokos feareth and trembleth, and the unclean judge feareth God, fearing and trembling, as also I, my multitude of sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn thou unto me, and save me by my much prayer.

Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment on thrones, and at His tribunal stand men: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant: every one according to his own deeds shall be glorified, or confounded.

And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast vouchsafed: For thou didst bring forth in thy flesh the Only-Begotten of the Father, Life-Giving One, for the salvation of our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Lord God, rich in mercy and immeasurably gracious, alone in essence without sin, and for our sake became man though without sin, hear my supplication this day, for I am poor and needy, having no good works.

My heart is troubled within me. For Thou art the King high on high, God, and in Thee and on earth, although all my youth I waited in sin: and following after the lusts of my flesh, I was a laughingstock to the demon, I followed the devil always, in the times of flowing sweetness.

But from my thoughts even from my youth even until now I have never desired to do Thy will willingly: but being enslaved by the passions of the deceitful demons, I was laughed at and defiled by them, in no wise as one thinking with his heart, for Thou hast poured forth upon sinners Thine unendurable wrath.

And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; what work of the demon have I wrought; what deed of study and wantonness with advantage?

And with fervent longing I have accomplished it; by my carnal remembrances I defiled them, by my body with pollutions I besmirched it, and by my spirit with the mingling of the polluted: every part of my defiled flesh serves and works for sin. And who else will lament me, my defiled one? Who else will weep for me?

O Sufferer; for I am one, Master, Thou hast provoked My wrath: I am one who hath kindled Thine anger against Me: I am one who in Thy sight wrought wickedness, surpassing and overcoming from the beginning sinners, unspeakably sinful, and unforgivable. But since I am much given to prayer,

Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and Thou waitest for the turning of man: all and I cast myself down before Thy fearful and intolerable judgment; as with Thy holy feet Thou hast touched, from the depths of my soul I cry to Thee: cleanse me, O Forgiver.

Mercy me in my weakness, incline to my confusion, receive my prayer and my tears not in vain. Receive me who am confessing, and turn back him who is astray: turning back him who turns, and praying him forgive. For Thou hast not laid down repentance for the righteous, nor hast Thou

Penance for the unrepentant is easier: but Thou hast appointed repentance for me, a sinner, in which I have partaken with Thy anger. Naked and exposed before Thee, O Searcher of hearts, confessing my sins: yet I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold Thy heavenly heights, burdened as I am by the weight of sins.

Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance: that with a good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father, and Mother.

And now, and ever, and in the ages of ages, amen.
