Terrible day of Thy coming, O Theotokos, doth awe me with Thine awesome presence, and I fear the unclean judgment that Thou shalt render, trembling as I am for my manifold sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn to me in Thy great mercy, and save me through my much prayer.

Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment upon thrones, and the courts of His shall stand before Him: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant: every one according to his own works shall be glorified, or confounded.

And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast made worthy: For thou didst bear in thy body the Only-begotten, Life-giving One, for the salvation of our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Lord God, rich in mercy, and abundant in compassion, alone in essence without sin, and for our sake becoming man except for sin, hear my prayer in this hour of my sickness, for I am poor and wretched by deeds of righteousness.

My heart within me doth sorrow. For Thou art the King on high, O Lord, in heaven and earth, as all my youth I have waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, ever a laughingstock to the demon, ever following the devil by night and day. My spirit was darkened.

But from my youth even until now, I have never desired to do Thy will with all my heart: but being enslaved by the passions of deceitful thoughts, I was made a laughingstock and a derision by the demon, in no wise having any compunction, for the intolerable wrath which Thou hast poured upon sinners has pierced me.

And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; wherefore I have not done the work of the demon; nor any deed of study or wantonness with preeminence.

And with a contrite heart I have accomplished it; by bodily remembrances I defiled it, polluting the body with uncleanness, and the spirit with mingled wickedness: every part of my defiled flesh serveth and worketh for sin. And who else will lament me, defiled? Who else will weep for me?

O Sufferer; for I am one, Lord, Thy power I have provoked: I am one who hath provoked Thy wrath: I am one who hath kindled against me Thine anger: I am one who in thy sight hath wrought wickedness, surpassing and overcoming from the ages all sinners, unspeakably sinful, and unforgivable. But since I am many-tongued,

Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and Thou waitest for the turning of man: all and I cast myself down before Thy fearful and unendurable judgment; as with Thy holy feet Thou hast touched, from the depths of my soul I cry to Thee: cleanse me, O Forgiver.

Mercy me in my weakness, bow down under the understanding of mine, receive my prayer and my tears not silent. Receive me who am confessing, and turn back him who is astray: turning back him who turns, and praying one forgive.

For Thou hast not laid down repentance for the righteous, nor hast Thou

More readily is repentance for him who hath not sinned: but Thou hast appointed repentance for me, a sinner, in which I have partaken with Thy anger. Naked and bare before Thee stand I, O Searcher of hearts; confessing my sins: yet I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold the heavenly heights, from the weight of my sins.

Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance and humbling of soul towards correction: that with a good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father and Mother, and Thee, O Spirit.

And now, and ever, and in the ages of ages, amen.
