Terrible day of Thy coming, O Theotokos, doth fear my soul, and the unclean judge feareth Thee, O pure One; fearing and trembling, as being many times more guilty than I: but before the end, O merciful One, turn Thou unto me with much prayer.

Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment on thrones, and the courts of His shall stand before Him: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant: every one according to his own works shall be glorified, or confounded.

And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast made worthy: For thou didst bear in thy body the Only-begotten, Life-giving One, for the salvation of our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Lord God, rich in mercy and incomprehensible in goodness, alone by nature without sin, and for our sake man though guiltless, hear this my grievous prayer today, for I am poor and beggarly from good works.

My heart within me doth sorrow. For Thou art the King on high, O Lord, in heaven and earth, as all my youth I waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, ever a laughingstock to the demon, ever following the devil by the nose, in the time of sweet pleasures flowing. My heart doth sorrow.

For even from my youth even until now, I have never desired to will Thy holy will: but being enslaved by the passions of deceitful counselors, I was made a laughingstock and a derision by the demon, in no wise as one thinking with his heart, for Thou hast poured forth upon sinners an intolerable wrath.

And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; wherefore I have not done the work of the flesh; nor any deed of study and wantonness with preeminence.

And with a contrite heart I have accomplished it; by my carnal remembrances I defiled it, polluting my body with uncleanness, and my spirit with the company of the unclean: every part of my defiled flesh serveth and worketh for sin. And who else will lament me, defiled as I am? Who else will weep for me?

O Sufferer; for I am one, Master, Thou hast provoked My wrath: I am one who hath kindled Thine anger: I am one who iniquitously acted before Thee, surpassing and overcoming from the beginning sinners, exceeding in sin and unrepentant. But since I am much given to boastfulness,

Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and Thou waitest for the turning of man: all and I cast myself down before Thy fearful and intolerable judgment; even as with Thy holy feet Thou hast touched me from the depths of my soul, I cry to Thee: Purify me, O Forgiver.

Mercy me, my weakness, with understanding not of myself, but with prayer and my tears do not remain silent. Receive me who am confessing, and turn me from error: turning me by repentance, and praying forgive me. For Thou hast not laid down confession to the righteous, nor havest Thou laid down forgiveness.

Pronouncement of forgiveness to the sinless: but Thou hast appointed confession for me, a sinner, in which I have partaken with Thy anger. Naked and exposed before Thee, O Searcher of hearts, confessing my sins: for I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold the heavenly heights, burdened as I am by sins.

My ears hear. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance and humility: that with a good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father, and Mother.

And now, and ever, and in the ages of ages, amen.
