Terrible day of thy coming, O Jesus Christ, the Theotokos feareth and trembleth, and not the unclean judge; fearing and trembling doth she because of my multitude of sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn thou unto me, and save me through my much prayer.

Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment on thrones, and at His tribunal stand men: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant: every one according to his own works shall be glorified, or confounded.

And now: Receiving the Great Gifts, Thou hast been vouchsafed, O Theotokos: For Thou didst bear in thy flesh the Only Begotten of the Trinity, Life-Giving Spirit, for the salvation of our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Lord God, our Rich in treasures, and of incomprehensible generosity, the Only-begotten, in very nature without sin, and for our sake, though a man apart from sin, dost hear my prayer this hour, as I am poor and needy by works of righteousness.

My heart is moved within me. For Thou art the King high on high, God, and in heaven and earth, as all my youth I have waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, all day long was I a laughingstock to the demon, ever followed the devil's will, in the times of flowing sweetness.

But from my youth even until now, I have never desired to do Thy will willingly: but being enslaved by the passions of those who deceive, I was deceived and defiled by the demon, in no wise having any compunction in my heart, for the irritable wrath which Thou dost pour upon sinners was intolerable.

And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; what work of the demon have I wrought; what deed of study and wantonness with advantage?

And with a contrite heart I have accomplished it; by my carnal remembrances I defiled it, polluting its body with uncleanness, and its spirit with the company of the unclean: every part of my defiled flesh serveth and worketh for sin. And who else will lament me, my defiled one? Who else will weep for me?

O Sufferer; for I am one, Master, Thou hast provoked My wrath: I am one who hath kindled Thy anger against Me: I am one who, in Thine sight, hath wrought wickedness, surpassing and overcoming from the beginning all sinners, unspeakably sinful, and unforgivable. But since I am much given to boastfulness,

Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and waitest for the turning of man: all I cast myself down before Thy fearful and intolerable judgment; even as I kiss Thy feet, from the depths of my soul I cry to Thee: cleanse me, O Forgiver.

Mercy me in my weakness, bow down under the understanding of mine, and hear my prayer and my tears not silent. Receive me who am confessing, and turn back him who is astray: turning back him who turns, and praying one forgive. For Thou hast not laid down repentance for the righteous, nor hast Thou

More readily is repentance for him who hath not sinned: but Thou hast appointed repentance for me, a sinner, in which I have partaken with Thy anger. Naked and exposed before Thee, O Searcher of hearts, confessing my sins: for I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold the heavenly heights, burdened as I am with sins.

Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance: that with good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole host, O Father, and Mother.

And now and ever, and unto the ages of ages, Amen.
