Terrible day of thy coming, O Jesus Christ, the Theotokos doth fear, and the unclean judge feareth the Lord, fearing and trembling, for my multitude of sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn thou unto me, and save me by my much prayer.

Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment on His throne, and the courts of Thy judgment stand forth: neither shall the king prevail against the soldier, nor the lord over the servant; for every one according to his own deeds shall be glorified, or confounded.

And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast made worthy: For thou didst bear in thy body the Only-begotten, Life-giving One, for the salvation of our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:

O Lord God, rich in mercy and incomprehensible in goodness, alone by nature without sin, and for our sake man though guiltless, hear this my prayer of affliction today, since I am poor and wretched through works of unrighteousness, and

My heart within me doth sorrow. For Thou art the King on high, O Lord, in heaven and earth, as all my youth I have waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, ever a laughingstock to the demon, ever following the devil by night and day. Myrrh-filled art Thou.

But from my youth even until now, I have never desired to do Thy will with all my heart: but being enslaved by the passions of deceitful counselors, I was laughed at and defiled by the demon, in no wise considering it, for the irritable wrath which Thou dost pour upon sinners was intolerable.

And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; wherefore I have not done the work of the flesh; nor any deed of study and wandering with advantage.

And with a contrite heart I have accomplished it; by my carnal remembrances I defiled it, by my body with pollutions, and by my spirit with defilements: every part of my defiled flesh serveth and worketh for sin. And who else will lament me, my defiled one? Who else will weep for me?

O Sufferer; for I am one, Lord, Thy strength I have provoked: I am one who hath provoked Thine anger: I am one who hath kindled against me Thy wrath from of old: I am one who in thy sight hath wrought wickedness, surpassing and overcoming from the beginning all sinners, exceeding in sin and unrepentant. But because I am many-tongued,

Blessed in heart of love, O Lover of mankind, and dost await the turning of human faces: all this and I myself cast myself down before thy fearful and intolerable judgment; as though touching with my feet thy holy feet, from the depths of my soul I cry to thee: cleanse me, O Forgiver.

Have mercy on my weakness, bow down under the burden of my ununderstanding, receive my prayer and my tears, and do not keep silent. Receive me who am confessing, and turn back him who is astray: turning back to Thee, and praying, forgive. For Thou hast not laid down repentance for the righteous, nor have Thou placed

More readily is repentance for him that hath not sinned: but Thou hast appointed repentance for me, a sinner, in which I have partaken with Thy anger. Naked and exposed before Thee, O Searcher of hearts, confessing my sins: yet I cannot lift up mine eyes nor behold the heavenly heights, burdened as I am by sins.

Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance: that with a good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father, and Mother.

And now, and ever, and in the ages of ages, amen.
