Terrible day of Thy coming, O Jesus Christ, the Theotokos feareth with trembling, and the unclean judge feareth God, fearing and quaking, for I am many in my multitude of sins: but before the end, O merciful God, turn Thou unto me, and save me through my much prayer.
Glory: When the Lord shall sit in judgment upon His throne, and the courts of Thy judgment stand forth: neither shall the king prevail over the soldier, nor the lord over his servant; for every one according to his own deeds shall be glorified, or confounded.
And now: Receiving the great gifts read by two of God's servants, thou wast made worthy to be: For thou didst bear in thy body the Only-Begotten, Life-Giving One, for the salvation of our souls.
O Lord, have mercy, and grant peace:
O Lord God, rich in mercy and incomprehensible in goodness, alone in essence without sin, and for our sake, though a sinful man, hasten to hear this my prayer of affliction, since I am poor and wretched through works of unrighteousness, and
My heart within me doth sorrow. For Thou art the King exalted on high, O Lord, in heaven and earth, as all my youth I have waited in sin: and after the lusts of my flesh I walked, wholly a laughingstock to the demon, ever following the devil's will, in the time of pleasures flowing. My heart doth sorrow.
But from my youth even until now, I have never desired to do Thy will willingly: but being enslaved by the passions of those who deceive, I was overcome by laughter and profanation by the demon, in no wise while thinking, for Thou hast poured upon sinners an unquenchable anger.
And lying in the fiery gehenna. Even as I always fell into temptation, and ever being turned by sense, I became empty and naked from thy friendship. For I have seen no sin; what work of the flesh have I wrought; what deed of study and wantonness with advantage?
And with a contrite heart I have completed; by bodily remembrances I defiled, polluting my body with uncleanness; and my spirit with the filthiness of sin: every part of my defiled flesh shall serve and work for sin. And who else will lament me, defiled? Who else will weep for me?
O Sufferer; for I am one, Master, Thou hast provoked Thy wrath against me: I have kindled Thine anger against me alone: I, alone, have wrought the crafty thing before Thee, surpassing and overcoming from everlasting all sinners, unspeakably sinful, and unforgivable. But since I am much given to boastfulness,
Blessed be Thou, Lover of mankind, and Thou waitest for the turning of man: all this I cast myself upon Thee before Thy fearful and unendurable judgment; and as one who hath kissed Thy feet, from the depths of my soul I cry to Thee: Purify me, O Forgiver.
Have mercy on my weakness, bow down under the burden of my ignorance, hear my prayer and my tears, and do not remain silent. Receive me who am confessing, and turn me from error: turning to Thee, I seek forgiveness and cleansing. For Thou, O Lord, hast not laid down repentance for the righteous.
Pardoneth the unoffending: but thou hast appointed repentance for me, a sinner, in which I have partaken with thy wrath. Naked and exposed before thee, O Searcher of hearts, confessing my sins; I dare not lift up mine eyes to behold and see thy heavenly heights, burdened as I am by the weight of sins.
Thy ears hear me. Enlighten the eyes of my heart, and grant me compunction and tenderness of heart for repentance and humility: that with a good hope and true faith I may go to that other world, praising and blessing Thy whole creation, O Father, and Mother.
And now, and ever, and in the ages of ages, amen.
