Not partaking of the passions thou didst abide in the Word of God,
clothing thy flesh with strength:
but hast resolved from the passions of man,
becoming passion by nature to save our passion:
for thou alone art without passion, and all-powerful.

Thou didst receive the mortal, thou didst preserve thy body unsavorious in corruption,/
And thy life-giving and divine Spirit, O Lord, was not left in hell:/
But as though from sleep, thou raisedst us up.

Trisagion: Thee, O God, beyond comprehension,

If Thou didst descend into the grave, O Life-giving One,
but didst shatter the power of hell, Theotokos,
raising the dead, and even death itself,
and didst give resurrection to all by Thy faith and love, O Lord.

Let the creation rejoice and blossom as a garden:
For Jesus Christ hath raised up the dead from their graves.
Where thou art now, O death, is sorrow; we cry out.
Where thou wast, O hell, victory;
Hast cast down thee into the earth,
Exalting our horn, for thou art merciful.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
But bearing him who bears all,
and holding fast as a little child in thy hands,
from the hand of him who fought for us and delivered us from the enemy,
thou seest upon the cross the trees exalted,
lifting up our race from the pit of death.

Star shining with the rays of divinity from Jacob,
enveloped by darkness:

With strength and by Thy grace I am strengthened, /
And with an heartfelt song from my heart I have laid it upon Thee: /
But receive this, O Thou who readest both,
Granting Thy great light, the gift of Thy uncorrupted treasures, O God.

Having stood in the presence of God,
in which the word of the bodily garment is made manifest,
God hath opened mine eyes:
in whom all salvation is revealed,
from the clear sense of them that greatly praise thee.

Resurrection of the Dead given now by Thy ineffable and unutterable word, O All-Holy Theotokos: / For life Thou didst put on Thy flesh, Thou didst clothe all with immortality, / And didst destroy the corruptible dust.
