Yirmos: God / Man cannot behold, / upon whom the angels' hierarchy dare not gaze: / by Thee, all-compassionate, / man's word was incarnate, / of whose majesty we extol Thee, / with heavenly hymns, / O Soul-enlivening.

Vespers: Glory to Thee, O Lord, for Thy resurrection glorified Thee.
Unmoved by passions thou didst remain, O Word of God, / Incarnate thou didst undergo them: / But thou hast resolved from the passions of man, / Incarnate thou didst suffer passion for our sake: / For thou alone art without passion, and all-powerful.
Vespers: Glory to Thee, O Lord, for Thy resurrection.
Thou didst receive the deadly sting, preserving thy body unsavorily in death; / but Thy life-giving and divine Spirit was not abandoned in hell: / but since Thou didst rise from the sleep of death, Thou didst raise us up together.

Trisagion: Holy God, Holy Unbegotten, / All creatures together with pure lips glorify Thee, / And beyond utterance and most glorious is Thy power which we venerate: / For Thou alone art the unseparable Trinity of power.

If Thou didst descend into the grave, O Life-giving One,
but didst shatter the strength of hell, Theotokos,
raising up the dead, even as Thou didst consume them,
and didst offer resurrection to all, O God,
by Thy faith and love, Thou who art glorified.

Let the creation rejoice and blossom as a garden:
For Jesus Christ hath raised up from the dead.
Where thou art now, O death, our sorrow; we cry out.
Where thou wast, O hell, victory;
Hast cast down thee into the earth,
Exalting our horn, because thou art full of mercy.
Refrain: Having lifted up the Theotokos, save us.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
But bearing him who bears all, and holding fast as a little child in thy hands, and from thy hand delivering us from the foe that fought against us, trampling down the Lady, thou didst see upon thy breast trees exalted,
lifting up our race from the pit of destruction.
Lord. Hymn: Having lifted up the Theotokos, save us.
Star shining with the rays of divinity from Jacob,
enveloped in darkness:
By thee, O Word of God, all creation is made manifest;
Through thee, we are enlightened and glorify Thee with heavenly hymns.
Refrain: Having lifted up the Theotokos, save us.
With strength and by Thy grace, I strengthen myself, / O my soul, with a heartfelt song I lay upon Thee: / But receive this, Thou who readest the two, / granting Thy great glory, / from Thine unaging treasures, O God-encompassed One.
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
Having stood in the presence of God,
in which the bodily word of the Resurrection is hid,
God hath opened mine eyes:
in whom all salvation is revealed,
unto them that purify their understanding by Thee.
And now and for ever and ever. Amen.
Resurrection of the Dead is given to us now,
by Thy unspeakable and unutterable word, O All-Holy:
for in Thee, O Lord, life clothed itself with our flesh,
and by Thee didst Thou destroy the mortality of all.
Kathavasia: Every earthly / may resound the house enlightened, / and let the nature of the spirit rejoice, / honoring the holy and glorious feast of God the Saviour, / and let it cry out:
Rejoice all most blest
Theotokos, reading with pure heart.
O Lord, have mercy. [Three times.]
By the prayers of our holy fathers, Jesus Christ, O Lord, and Theotokos, have mercy on us, amen.
