Not to whom false repentance doth seem meet for me:

Thy precious Cross we glorify, and Thy nails, O Lord,

The grave could not hold thee by the power of death, O Lord, for thou hast loosed the prison-house of our race; / but no word can suffice to hold: / For thou, O Lord, didst raise from the dead and save our kindred.

Blessed be the Virgin Mother: O Virgin Mother most pure,
Who gave birth to Christ our God,
Save us from miseries and sorrows,
Fleeing to thy divine protection with faith.

Thou that didst give birth to the Unsetting Light, O Theotokos,
In being in darkness thou livest,
By thy Body thou shinest for all and singest to thee,
And ever hast poured forth joy unspeakable.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.

Blessing flourisheth, law is abolished: by thee all things are made new; / for thou, reading, didst bring forth the Lord, / who giveth us everlastingly, having left behind thee.

Ме́ртва мѧ̀ показа̀ сада̀ вкꙋше́нїе, / жи́зни же дре́во и҆з̾ тебѐ ꙗ҆́вльшеесѧ пречⷭ҇таѧ, воскр҃сѝ, / и҆ ра́йскїѧ сла́дости наслѣ́дника мѧ̀ ѹ҆стро́и.
Dead hath shown the garden entrance, / life's tree thou hast more precious made precepted, rise, / and heir of heavenly sweetness didst ordain me.

Sitting in glory,
on the throne of divinity,
in the cloud of light,
Jesus the Eternal came,
with unhasting hand,
and called to thee:
Glory to thy power.
