Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee! For Thou art life (живот) from all eternity; Thou art the beginning and end of every creature (тварь), the first and last. Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee!

With the grace of thy blessedness, O Theotokos, having been vouchsafed by the prophetic vision of the holy Avvakum, with clear eyes beholding, he proclaimed to thee the Word of God in our salvation and renewal.

Who is this Saviour and He who was born of the Virgin, bearing a crown of thorns, wearing a purple robe, hanging on a tree; He is our Holy One, in our salvation and renewal.

Behold ye the people disobedient and ashamed: for his sake whom ye sweetly lifted up on the cross of Pilate and earnestly besought to be crucified, with might breaking death, God gloriously rose from the grave.

O Theotokos,

The tree of life was hidden: for its fruit, a deadly poison to man, thou didst hide; but the enjoyment of life ever-present, in the keeping of those who sing thy praise.

And Irmos: The Rod from the Root of Jesse:

Verily this is adorned with the winepress, and his countenance hath divers hues like to the grapes of the winepress; adorned as is God, adorned as is man, by the blood of his flesh turned pale; to him we sing: Glory becometh thy might, O Lord.

Jesus Christ hath made the forgiveness of our sins to abound exceedingly: and having shown a strange way by His own blood, He entered into the best and most perfect tabernacle by His going forth, that is, into heaven.

O Theotokos,

Ancient debt thou hast besought, O All-Pure Virgin, for us, that through the greater mercy of the New Adam. Having united thyself with a pure conception, O Pure-minded One, quickened by Thee, there sprang forth Jesus Christ, one in essence with Thee.

And Irmos: By Thy Holy Spirit:

Hear the wonders of heaven, and let the earth be filled, as with the fingers of the Lord hath been stretched out to Adam fallen, God hath been called upon to be, and for her own helper she is made the mother, for our salvation and renewal.

We sing thy great and fearful mystery, O Lord, for the most honorable cherubim and seraphim, bowing down to thee, whereon thou didst descend as rain upon the earth, all-compassionate, singing with those who are uplifted by thee.

Blessed be the Theotokos, all languages, and comfort of faithful ones, and to thee we cry, O Saviour and Giver of life, Lord: pray for us, O Preserver.
