Troparion of prophecy, tone 8:

Today the evil host has gathered, and vain thoughts are against Thee: today, by agreement, Judas betroths himself to strangulation, but Caiaphas involuntarily confesses that he alone accepts passion for all. will: To our Savior, Christ God, glory to Thee.

Glory, and now: and we repeat the same.

Troparion of prophecy, tone 8: The Council of the Sanhedrin, evil and cowardly, was now convened because of You and laid lies against You; On this day, Judas, agreeing with him, condemns himself to the noose, while Caiaphas involuntarily confesses that You freely accept the passion of One for all. Christ and God, our Redeemer, we give glory to You!

Glory, even now: and we repeat the same troparion.

Prophecies of Ezekiel reading (Ezek.2:3-10; 3:1-3).

The Lord said to me: Son of man, I will send you to the house of Israel, who grieve Me, who grieved Me, they themselves and their fathers denied Me until this day. And the sons are cruel-faced and hard-hearted. I will send you to them, and say to them: this is the saying of Adonai the Lord. If they hear or are afraid, there is a sorrowful house behind them, and they will know that you are a prophet in their midst. And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their presence: they will become angry and circle you around, for you live in the midst of scorpions: do not be afraid of their words and do not be dismayed at their presence, for your home there is sadness. And you shall speak My words to them, and if they hear or fear, there will be wrath outside the house. And you, son of man, listen to him who speaks to you, do not be grieved, as a house is grieved: open your mouth, and the snow that I give you. And I saw, and behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and in it was a scroll of books. And develop it before me, and in it was written the front and the back: and sobbing, and pity, and grief were written in it.

And he said to me: Son of man, take away this scroll, and go and become a son of Israel. And he opened my mouth, and fed me with this scroll, and said unto me, Son of man, thy mouth shall be satisfied, and thy belly shall be satisfied with this scroll which is given unto thee. And I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Reading the prophecy of Ezekiel [2:3–10; 3:1–3]

The Lord said to me: “Son of man! I will send you to the house of Israel, to the people who grieve Me, who grieve Me, they themselves and their fathers have departed from Me until this day. And sons with hardened faces and hard hearts; I will send you to them, and you will say to them, Thus says the Lord God. Perhaps they will listen or be afraid, for they are a house that grieves Me, but let them know that you are a prophet among them. And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them and do not be afraid of their face, for they will rise up with rage and surround you on all sides, for you live among scorpions, do not be afraid of their words and do not be afraid of their faces, because they are a troubled house. And speak My words to them, perhaps they will listen or be afraid, for they are a house of wrath. And you, son of man, listen to Him who speaks to you, do not be stubborn like a house that grieves, open your mouth and eat what I give you.” And I saw, and behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and in it was a book scroll. And He unfolded it in front of me, and it was written on the front and back, and inscribed in it: “weeping, and pity, and grief.” And He said to me: “Son of man!

Eat this scroll and go and tell the children of Israel.” And I opened my mouth, and He fed me with this scroll. And he said to me: “Son of man! Your mouth will eat and your belly will be satisfied with this scroll given to you.” And I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 134), tone 6: Ye who fear the Lord, / bless the Lord.

Verse: Praise the name of the Lord, praise, servants, the Lord.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 134), tone 6: Ye who fear the Lord, glorify the Lord!

Verse: Glorify the name of the Lord, glorify the Lord, His servants!
